It could be done with the current engine , make a new head with a cam for each head so it would be SOHC , have a blank cam where the old cam would be and a gear or something run of that with belts driven off of the blank cam to turn the over head cams . It would illiminate the lifter pushrod system but at the end of the day would it be needed . the heads would still flow the same and your volumetric efficiency would still be the same . Your rev range may change a bit but apart from illiminating the pushrod valve train would it be a performance enhancer? I don't know I am an not a engine builder or a mechanic , all of what I just said is mearly theoretical .
