I'm thinking Roger is tightening up the belt. We're already aware of the change in him sponsoring the ESPN2 coverage after this year and the series post-2014. I believe that he is cutting back the number of drivers and Ray along with Brad, are moving on to pursue other opportunities.
I hope that Melanie is able to stay on as she moved to Atlanta to run the team.
This also makes three cars available to Roger, Leah and Melanie. After Roger crashed the Firebird, it's been musical chairs with Leah having to sit out the next race due to not having a car. There was supposed to be a 2010 Pro Line powered turbo Mustang debuting soon with Brad driving. Who knows if that car came to fruition or not.
With his reluctance to continue past his current contract in sponsoring the series, maybe Roger is moving to make the team a Top Fuel team and forego the Pro Mod side of things?
To follow up on that, I could see Roger moving to an all TF Funny Car team with Melanie and Leah driving. Can't fault him for that for many reasons; especially marketing. With John Medlen being there, he has a guy that can definitely navigate his operation from a crew chief standpoint. Melanie and Leah both definitely have the ability to win a lot of races. Give them the right funding and it would be fun to see it develop.
