With the bump being 4.37 in FC and 6.37 in TF?
No. By my highly unofficial count... This years chicago race was the quickest field in Funny Car with a 4.100 bump. The 2014 Auto Club Finals was the quickest Top Fuel field with a 3.834 bump.
Quickest field or not, both nitro classes put up outstanding numbers, both ET's & MPH.
Make me wonder if NHRA is thinking, "We need to slow them down but they keep going faster".Just makes you wonder what Reading is going to be like.
I have been one saying they need to slow them, mainly because ,of cost but right now i have to agree leave it alone, the interest in Drag Racing is really coming around.Leave it alone !
Drag racing is back in the public eye
Oh yes, I see big rule changes for F/C after this season ends.................................maybe before?Make me wonder if NHRA is thinking, "We need to slow them down but they keep going faster".![]()
That's a bold prediction, I just looked at the entry list and I will say there's about a .5% chance that will happen. Best case would be 13 3 second FC's, but that's asking for a lot and you will need the weather to cooperate.I'm predicting an all three-second Funny Car field at Indy.

Best case scenario is 3 of these cars getting a 3 (Cruz, Chad, and Bojec), so you will still be 1 short. Today's forecast is sunny and a high in the mid 80's. Regardless it should be a stout field.
