qualifying e.t. spread

last weekend TF, FC, & PS were all qualified within .10 sec of each other.
nothing new for PS, but is this getting to be more normal in TF & FC?
If the qualifying spreads are thrinking in the nitro classes and everyone
is more or less playing with the same parts, not necessarily quantity of parts,
doesn't this now more than ever reveal real talent (crew chiefs) that can
consistantly qualify?; much less in top half of field?; (and i know it's a sore spot with some of you); especially with the 'race to indy'?
just an observation.

I was thinking the same thing. The nitro fields are becoming like PS, I believe it's a direct result of the limitations imposed on these classes, in effect the ability for any one team to dominate due to advanced technology or new idea is pretty much gone.

Doubt we will see a Gary Beck type (1983) ET advantage anytime soon.
