I take it by the lack of posts that I'm not the only one. I end up coming in thru search-then find a topic from NHRA-then into the site. Any clue whats up?

Something is awry. I’ve never seen this forum so quiet, and another forum I frequent has also been abnormally still. --M--

When I am not on my PC I enter get to the Forums by clicking on the NITROMATER LOGO in the top left corner of the page. It takes you straight to the "Staging Lanes" which has a list of the Forums.

I have the NHRA Forum Bookmarked in My Favorites so I normall enter that way.

It is VERY VERY quiet here though lately as someone posted earlier.

Mods may want to look at the stats and make sure nothing is contributing to the lack of activity.

Last week I had a lot of trouble getting in going through AOL. The web site would lock up and I had to exit the program. I switched to MS explorer and had better luck. Seems better today using AOL.

Paul, I clicked on Nitromater and went right in, current users shows my name and Paul's name but nobody else on this thread. I'm using Firefox and having no problem.

The only problem I've had in the past few months was last night. I kept getting "database error" messages. I didn't think much about it.

Other than that, no problems on my end.

Were experiencing some mysql issues. Trying to work through the bugs. Been a slow process but were getting somewhere. Should be getting better through the night.

Thanks,
Shannon

mysql controls the database that stores all the posts, PM's, etc, etc that make up this forum.
Actually, MySQL IS the database, the object that stores all posts and related data and its engine is distinct from SQL, Oracle and others.

Usually, when someone states that they are having database problems, very rarely is it the database itself, more often, it's the server-side commands like PHP, ASP, ASP.NET/ADO.NET, etc., that cause the problems, mostly from inadequate error trapping and they can be very difficult to troubleshoot.

Debugging, specially on a live system, can be very frustrating for everyone involved!
