My deepest condolences to his family and friends. I got to meet Vinny this past Sept in Epping. Great guy. Worked his butt off on Thursday setting up his pit, alone! He just loved to race and it showed.

Sad news - coming on the heels of the news of Aaron Koppien's death over the New Year's weekend means 2007 is getting off to a lousy start.

Vinny appeared to be having a great time racing this year and finishing fourth in the IHRA points was probably almost as good as a championship to him. He was an upbeat addition to the tour and he will be missed.

I have known him well for 5 years, and I can certainly attest, he is the ABSOLUTE salt of the earth...A genuine gentleman has been lost to us...He will be VERY sorely missed....
