Pomona Nitro Car Count

Lighten-up Joe.

Like the guy sid, "It's Winter" for God's sake.

Used to be (at least in Connecticut), we'd have one really - really - cold week or 10 days in early January -then we'd have a couple tough snows - late January into February. Then, we'd moderate into a rainy Spring. Maybe we're into that cycle again.

Has to be pretty cold for Long Island sound to Ice solid out any distance from the shore. Happens in cycles (seems to me).

I'm afraid most of the peple on TV news have little historical perspective about the weather or much else: I mean, how can they -they're mostly, pretty young.

I was responding to Larry's Cocky remark....California may not see Minus zero temps in the Winter like some places! But I wonder how many people made light of the Northridge Quake or the San Francisco quake in 1989? Or the numerous Wildfires California has seen the past 20 years! FAIL!!!!!!!!!

Dutch Harbor Alaska on a processor , 70 below on an Island in the Bering Sea, pretty cold there .

I have friends in the Midwest we break each other stones over the weather everyday , lighten up man Geezze.

Joe comparing a winter freeze to the tragidy of those quakes is absurd and fires.

I was 10 years when the 6.5 quake hit Sylmar Febuary 9th 1971 causing an evacuation of the Van Nuys area where we lived for three weeks while the failing Van Norman resuvoir Dam as drianed off to avoid a flood of the valley . Much of Sylmar and San Fernando were distroyed in that quake inculding the VA hospital.

We have also been directly affected by the fires the past several years here, one was just a mile from San Clemente were we have lived the past 13 years.

No Darr, I like you just call them as I see them! But since your a So. Cal. Native, you wouldn't understand anyway...

Yep, a PROUD SoCal Native, except for the eleven years I spent in Chicago and NYC, I just call them as I see them! I even lived in Hawaii for a while, but you won't hold that against me, will ya?

Ah, for the record, California is a big place and there are many place that see subzero temps. I once spent a winter working the ski lifts at Mammoth Mountain in the Sierras. Got stuck at the top one day during a snow storm when the temp got down to -40 with wind chill. We had to evacuate before night fall.

BTW, my bucket list includes a trip to Taos one year.

So... it seems like we have a lot of worried drag racing fans here. Some are worried about car counts. Others are worried about fan attendance. Others about the weather and some are worried about the weather channel!!!!!!! I read recently that the most diagnosed mental illness is anxiety and i guess this proves it. I dont remember this kind of worrying during the season SO i think nitro must suppress anxiety. everyone please get themselves to a shop and snort some nitro because now im getting worried about you'all

Just Silly Season no doubt .

Smart schedule change, better for the fans wallets and theoretically could save the teams a few bucks on hotel days and crew. Bad for the Sportsman teams, with less fans in the stands.
It's not so good for the fans that always liked to come out on Thur because it was such a laid back atmosphere, which allowed them a lot of time to chat with drivers and crew members. But, now it will eliminate one less day on the road for the teams.

Yep, there might be about 5,000 unhappy Thursday spectators who will get more than their fill of nitro on Friday with two sessions. Hey, it was lousy when they bulldozed the old pump house and Cypress trees on the top end.
