Pomona Nitro Car Count

Boy if that doesn't represent the Arrogance most people in So. Cal. Display I don't know what does....Man! Have you ever lived through a Cold Winter? Sounds to me you don't have a clue what the Country is going through...

Perhaps a bit of gloating, but our weather pattern seems to be behind schedule a few months.

I'm sure we'll be getting lots of rain and snow in February and March as has been the case over the last few years.

Maybe that's why the car count is so low. The cost of sitting in the rain is too high for many racers and the locals are going to wait for later in the year to spend money on racing.

Lighten-up Joe.

Like the guy sid, "It's Winter" for God's sake.

Used to be (at least in Connecticut), we'd have one really - really - cold week or 10 days in early January -then we'd have a couple tough snows - late January into February. Then, we'd moderate into a rainy Spring. Maybe we're into that cycle again.

Has to be pretty cold for Long Island sound to Ice solid out any distance from the shore. Happens in cycles (seems to me).

I'm afraid most of the peple on TV news have little historical perspective about the weather or much else: I mean, how can they -they're mostly, pretty young.

...The media has taken to actually naming winter storms, and it's a complete meltdown over some sub-zero temps. Next year, I'm sure thunderstorms will have names as well.....
It's The Weather Channel doing that. I'm on the board of the local storm spotters organization, and know people in the weather service office here, and they've gotten VERY strict instructions to ignore any name used by TWC.

Yeah, it cycles. As for age, I barely remember the blizzard of 1978. I'm 42.

Same here, Tom. I just turned 44 and I have some vague memories of '78. But I'll tell you, people can downplay it all they want, this last blast is as bad as we've seen here (northern Indiana) in my memory, including '78. The past few days have been a challenge, to say the least.

what are the current payouts for TF & FC, from winner on down to 1st rnd. loser?
and then who gets what for 17th, 18th, 19th, etc. NQ'rs?

So... it seems like we have a lot of worried drag racing fans here. Some are worried about car counts. Others are worried about fan attendance. Others about the weather and some are worried about the weather channel!!!!!!! I read recently that the most diagnosed mental illness is anxiety and i guess this proves it. I dont remember this kind of worrying during the season SO i think nitro must suppress anxiety. everyone please get themselves to a shop and snort some nitro because now im getting worried about you'all

One of my favorite smells is putting Q16 in the tank when the engine gets back from Reher fresh for next season. Unfortunately, I asked David for more "nitrous permission" this year and the custom pistons he ordered are taking extra time .... fresh fuel, followed shortly by the sounds and smells of exhaust .... they are the best!

Some winters are "normal", some are less than that and some are more. Been that way for about a zillion years.

Well I was on the phone with James Riola last night he said the temp at Kalitta's shop was 1 degree when He left to head home and that felt warm. Pretty freak'in cold man.
