Never paid to park anywhere. Might be land owners doing this. The line is terrible.Stopping to run cards, make change etc.OMG, that rivals the Pomona UnFairplex parking scam. I guess they don't have to worry about returning customers. Thanks loyal fans, now pay up!
Were the Honda's, Suzuki's and, Kawasakis's only charged $5 since they're half the motorcycle that a HARLEY is?I remember the time I went to Phoenix on the Harley. I was in the line to pay for parking I believe it was $10. as I handed the
attendant a $20 I asked since I only take half a space do, I only pay $5 jokingly, He said it's better than that, Handing me back two $10's
saying to go to park in the corner next to the entrance with a wink.
Parking was over $100 at SoFi last Jan for the Rams/Niners game.Good thing you guys don't go to the NASCAR race at the coliseum or the supercross race at Anaheim stadium. You would be paying much more then $15 or $20.
FYI for next time you (or anyone else) go to Charlotte, they do have free parking. Go in the entrance on 29, and there's a lot hidden behind the dirt track that's free. From there you can walk down the hill and go in the gate on the sportsman side.I am not a fan of paying to park, especially when you pay to attend, but almost all the races I attend (Reading, Charlotte, Bristol, Epping, VMP and more) all charge to park. The cut between non-NHRA track owners and NHRA is ridiculously in favor of the sanctioning body. Parking goes directly to the track, so I don't have an issue if it helps them make it year over year
Yes it was credit card only.Chargebacks!!The worst thing about paying for parking is that the payment process slows everything down and results in traffic problems outside the venue. I was stunned when I went into the spectator carpark at the US Nationals a few years ago and they only had two people taking payment for parking. TWO! You're trying to get 10,000 people into the venue and they want to stop every car that enters for 30 seconds. Not to mention, instead of providing an immediately positive impression to new customers with a smooth and convenient parking process, you charge them before they're even on the grounds...
Pretty much the same thing at the Texas Motorplex and all parking is in an open field of dirt and grass. Even the VIP/Press parking isn't paved but at least it's close. If it rains, you ain't goin' nowhere. At Pomona, you get a free 1/2 mile walk each way included in the parking price, so don't be talkin' bad about my favorite racetrack. lol
