I can't go too overboard in that I DO feel sorry for her. As much as that sorrow is for what I've emphasized before, that she's shallow enough that she puts her own temporary discomfort ahead of what could have been a lifetime of suffering at others by her own hands. Screwed up priorities.

I think someone being able to endanger the lives of innocent people over and over and over, with no apparent regard for what SHE could have sentenced people to for the rest of THEIR lives, then getting this apparent special treatment by our crooked government IS a current event.

I understand this is a current event, but I hardly feel it is worthy the news extravaganza that it became yesterday. Im not sure how it was covered in your part of the country, but in So Cal it was like a replay of the O.J. slow speed chase as all of the local news media helicopters shadowed the progress of the Sheriff's car from her house to the court house then onto the L.A. County jail. This deserved a mention in the news, but not the non-stop hours of coverage that it got.

Another example of the news going out of their way to entertain their viewers with non-events occurred a few weeks ago when an alligator that someone had dumped in a local lake was finally caught ( FOXNews.com - L.A.'s Reggie the Alligator Captured, Taken to Zoo - Science News | Current Articles ). THis alligator had eluded capture for over a year and when it was caught all of the local news affiliates (ABC, NBC, and CBS) topped the 5:00 news hour with the live procession of the animal control truck transporting the alligator from the lake to the LA Zoo (again, this was reminicient of the infamous O.J. slow speed chase/follow). A large portion of the news cast that day on all 3 affiliates involved watching the animal control truck work it's way thru rush hour traffic to get to the zoo. It didn't appeal to me at all but I'm sure the majority of the mouth breathing "must be entertained" news audience was enthralled by the entire event. This story should have gotten about 2 minutes notice at the end of the news broadcast rather than getting top billing.

This is why I get my news from various legitimate sources on the internet rather than be spoon fed the drivel that the broadcast newsmedia has replaced resorted to providing us.
