Oh my..........

Any other notable numbers, Justin? Gotta' believe the Dodges aren't far behind.

And what are the conditions? Just about has to be mineshaft if they're this quick but thought they would be quicker.

Sean D

I was told it was right at or near Sea Level for air conditions. Track is usually pretty stellar there.

Most of the teams are just trying stuff out, so you're not going to see super stellar numbers out of them until they just decide to leg one out. But those cars are running low 6.50's not even breathing hard.

The thing I always find interesting about Bradenton testing is it's like Candyland for those cars. They rarely see the same conditions during the season. But it does help them prove out theories and new parts, so it doesn't do them any good to be under weight or have other illegal mods going.

it's not too uncommon to see in pro stock preseason testing to see someone hit one out of the park and post exceptionally good numbers

Yeah, didn't Richie Stevens run the quickest pass ever last year in AJ's car during preseason testing?

Anderson, driving the Summit Racing Equipment-sponsored Camaro, covered the Bradenton Motorsports Park racing surface in 6.460 seconds at 215.15 miles per hour. He returned later to run a 6.48, 214. The current Pro Stock records are 6.47, 214 by Jason Line.

The Mopar duo of Allen Johnson and Jeg Coughlin Jr. ran a pair of 6.49s right behind Anderson's 6.48.

Paul, why would any team want to run illegal? What would they have to gain?

Trying different combinations to learn what makes it go faster. They may not pass tech, but you can learn what it likes, then once you learn, maximize it to the extent of the rules allowed.

PRESS.... sometimes it doesnt take but for a small piece to be out of place or out of line to get a huge number....

Hate to mention it here..but same thing happens in NASCAR with their group testing.. NASCAR doesnt do tech other than safety... and as they always mention you never know what teams are doing when they dont have to tech.. but it makes preseason very interesting ....

I know the NASCAR boys have all the computers, data collection devices and real time telemetry stuff on the cars during testing ... all of that equipment is prohibited by rules on race weekends.

I have been told or read somewhere they sometimes run traction control during testing. I believe a few years back someone failed to remove it after testing and suffered some type of penalty although I don't remember any details.

I do remember a deal several years ago John Force had a deal on his car during testing and the team forgot to remove it before the went to the next race and nhra got on him about it.
The device if i remember correctly was a deal to measure how much the rear tires grew during a run.

To get info. Theres nothing wrong in running illegal in testing, in a Pro class, afterall it's just that..."testing". Joe it's just like back in the "match race' days.

Paul... is "running illegal" the right term?... maybe running just out side the rule limits?... less wicker, weights shifted a bit more in the wrong direction etc....lol
