I for one was SO happy to see them "come back" when they did. 2 accomplished racing crew chiefs who's history and resumes speak volumes. Believe me, if they want to return to pro racing, they will. Some names just never go out of style. Must be nice to hold that kind of clout - I wouldn't know

It seems odd to me that the Schumacher car with the most crew chief turnover is Capp's car. Could it be the driver is a little difficult to work with?

Tim Richards is a no BS kinda guy and has called out an owner in the past, he and the entire crew quit the Pat/Walt Austin operation at the Winternationals in 1993. Obviously he will draw a line in the sand and stick to his guns.

I didn't see it mentioned anywhere in this thread, including the attached article, but didn't Dave or Gary or someone mention during one of the telecasts that the NAPA team had recently lost it's clutch specialist too? I'm not sure if it's related to the performance and subsequent loss of Tim & Kim, or not, but I found it interesting.
Regardless, it's a team matter and I respect that. I just feel bad as a fan because two more icons of the sport are once again on the sidelines. It will be interesting to see if they show up elsewhere, or if they were truly unhappy being back.

Rumor is the NAPA deal has performance clauses in it and the DNQ might have had a financial penalty.

I might be mistaken. But, I'm pretty certain that Dave has said that Kim was doing the clutch work on the car.

Under the caption from Greg Stanfield's Camaro it says that's the first round win in 20 years.. but the camaro was racing in the late 90's early 2000's.. 10 years maybe. Certainly not 20. Also the speculation on Antron's tire.. if you watch the ESPN2 footage, the tire came apart and threw chunks off of it after the 1,320 mark and the chutes were out.
I take that as wholesale changes. My prediction is Rahn Tobler will be calling the shots for the NAPA car. We shall see.
