NHRA survey..... (1 Viewer)

me too...

I tried to get across the sameness of the pro cars, especially Pro Stock, has as much to do with my diminished interest in NHRA racing as the change to 1000' did...here's hoping for some positive changes :)

It asked what year did I most recently attend a professional NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series event? How interested are you in NHRA drag racing, over all experience at the event, entertainment value, will you attend next year, what are you fav classes (TF, FC, PS, PSB, PM, and Sportsman..click all that apply), what outles you use to keep up with NHRA, (such as website, social media, and or magazines) what reasons you attend the races), a whole section on how you feel about 1000ft racing, couple questions about ESPN, a question that said how likely are you to attend next year if NHRA goes back to 1/4 mile racing, and then finished up with the usual, Male/ Female, what part of the country are you from.

Hope that helps Don

I got a letter from NHRA that had the 2014 Winternatl's ticket renewal, hope it wasn't in that!

If true, the whole BS reasoning from the Suits and shill racers that 1,000 foot racing would have no effect on spectator ticket sales, seems to be a lot of hot air. Just one of the reasons that NHRA Membership had dropped to approximately 65,000 in 2011.

1,000 foot for short shutdowns like Pomona and E-Town.
1,320 foot for Vegas, Bandimere, Sonoma, Gainesville and long shutdowns.

Oh, wait, that'd just confuse spectators. ;)

Until Kalitta's Death, I never heard any racers talk about how Dangerously Short Pomona and E-town were! Even at 330 MPH...

It blows my mind how people boycott the big show because fuel cars are shutting off at 1000ft. I'm all for re-packaging the fuel classes into a bit slower, much less expensive deal that can run 1320. However, should that never happen, how can any gearhead not want to see fuel cars run side by side, at 320+mph to 1000ft? I stood at the 1000ft. mark at Reading and it was incredible. These cars move past the 1320, even clicking it at 1000ft., so fast that's it's scary. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I just think people are missing out by boycotting because of this, not to mention all the other classes that put on a tremendous show. Just my .02

Yep, I'm with you.

I didn't get one but I might be on a blacklist somewhere :)

Not a fan of 1000' but it's not a deal breaker. As a lifelong fan of Scott's, I'd rather see my drivers be able to race again. If the extra room makes that happen then I can get used to it. I wouldn't mind seeing 1320 on the longer tracks and 1000' on the shorter ones. Baseball and NASCAR have different dimensions everywhere they go so it can work.

Not a member anymore either, after one year of the countdown I dropped it. Also dropped the number of NHRA races I go to. Still see plenty of racing, just not always the drama show.

I'm a member and did not get an email. So I just called NHRA and talked to Jan. She was very nice, but had no idea there was a survey being done. She said it may be that members were picked at random. She was able to forward a request that I be included in the survey.

I'd suggest calling membership services and doing the same.

Here's the number

1-800-308-6472 or 626-250-2490

If they packaged a series of 1000' vs. 1320' races like they market the Countdown.... ;)

Kinda like NASCAR markets their superspeedway vs. short oval vs. road course races....

Am not sure why there is discussion of going back to 1320. It isn't going to happen. As far as doing 1000 at some tracks and 1320 at others they would have a major uprising on the part of the car owners.

Excellent post! I've been more impressed with the team's ability to get the performance right back to par over the last few years.

I clicked the link in this thread and took the poll, though I'm not currently a member.
