Just saw this on Fremont's calendar page - NHRA Street Party on Thursday October 25th. Anyone know what this is? Times? Driver appearances???

Melissa, they usually do a pretty big autograph session at the New York/New York's ESPN ZONE on Thursday night. I wonder if this is the event they are refuring too? All I know, is that I am not PLANNING ON SLEEPING AT ALL From Wed until Sunday Night that weekend!:D

Tim I believe NHRA canned the ESPN deal.

The ESPN Zone was too small anyway. Having such a function on Fremont Street would make much more sense -- room for a lot more people.

I'm at the Strip this weekend. According to Chris Blair all the countdown drivers/riders will be there as well as the Technicoat Shootout drivers and many others. Should be a big time.

Chris also told me that they had made a deal with the Casinos in town again to stay open late the weekend of the race, so you won't have to leave early to get your gambling fix.

This is such a friendly town.......

In a related story, I heard that HD PARTNERS GROUP/NHRA and Bruton Smith "ARRANGED" a deal with the City of Las Vegas to allow "OPEN CONTAINERS OF YOUR FAVORITE ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES" while walking on the strip or downtown with Proof of Purchase to any of the (4) Days of action at LVMS!!!! NOW THAT'S WHAT I CALL "TAKING IT TO THE NEXT LEVEL!"

PS: I also heard that Budweiser is releasing, (In limited quantity) a 22 oz can that stacks very well together. It's designed to target the Arizona based, 6'5 and over market! They can be purchased at any of Duane Shields Stores! Look's like I'm gonna have to stick to the Coors!

WHERE IS THE EVENT BEING HELD ALAN? What time?

You mean I can drink Beer on the Strip now??? Turn out the lights!;):p

Autograph session starts at 6:00 the event runs until about 10. Will be cars on display, and you can't go wrong on Freemont Street

Alan

Flight lands at 10 pm on Thursday. How far is Fremont St.? ;)

This FanFest deal (including the Shootout draw party) was held at the Hard Rock Hotel the last two years. But having this being downtown should be great. Coupled with the fact I'm staying at the Golden Nugget, this couldn't have worked out more perfectly! Hey Joe, I'll make sure that beer is readily available in mass quantities.:D

You know Mark,...those "NUGGETS" in the Lobby could most likely let you "LEASE" a Top Fuel Car for an entire year...Not advicating THEFT or anything...Just stating an INTERESTING Fact!

I don't know...What do you guys think....Can we pull an OCEANS 11??? To Finance the "MATER" TOP FUEL CAR???? Let me put my thinking cap on...and We'll see what we can do!!

This is the most brilliant idea I've heard all day. Now, if I can just engineer some sort of invisible cloaking device that also would permit me to walk through a glass enclosed case...we'd be gettin' somehwere.

Well, Alan was right all sixteen drivers are supposed to be there, plus a special video on the canopy,I'm sure not going to miss It.It's all on NHRA's web site.

Is there going to be a mater meeting sometime during the FanFest? Since I'm staying at the Golden Nugget and the FanFest is right at the "front door" of the Nugget, perhaps I should host.
