NHRA Entry Lists (1 Viewer)

I noticed on the Top Alcohol Dragster Entry List for Pomona, all the engine sizes are less than 500 Cubic Inches. Why are they all 400+ CI now?

TAD's have been much smaller than funny cars for as long as I can remember..

To hit minimum weight, you have to be:
- A/Fuel - 5 lbs. per cube, minimum 410 - max 456.. 2125 minimum weight.
- Roots blower - 528 max, 1975 minimum weight (knock off another 50 for a converter if you're a T/D looking to play in TAD.)
- Screw blower - 466 max to stay at the 2050 lbs. minimum. Can go bigger cubes at 5 lbs. per cube. (again, drop 50 if you have a converter).

So a screw motor could run a bigger TAFC style motor, but minimum weight would be more than a TAFC and they would have a harder time revving it up. Some of them are turning as hard as Pro Stock engines with heavier high dome pistons and longer pushrods. Since they are limited on bore by bore spacing in the rules, the only way to get bigger cubes is stroke, and that usually isn't good at retarded high RPM.

Plus for Phoenix's event and all the subsequent events, I can't click top Dragster or Top Sportsman to see who's entered
