Have you looked at this! Fuel categories have full fields, but 19 P/S and 16 Comp? These numbers are not from the notoriously inaccurate list on NHRA.com - they're the official entry list. Any ideas on why counts in almost every category are so low?

I think SC and SG quotas were raised to 100 from 80. stk and ss always light in spring no east coast cars out here same with comp.

there is still 1 more week before the cutoff so there could be more in the categories as time goes forward;

I would think there would be a higher car count in the sportsman categories ... Divisional this weekend and the National next weekend ... back to back usually yields big car counts ...

28,

but WOW 18 Pro Stock Cars, less than the FCs with 21. I don't remember the last event with such a small amount of Pro Stock Cars, usually there's over 20 of them.

A while back someone posted something about the high cost of gas and its effect on racing this year. Sadly I think we're starting to see the effect of the sky rocketing costs and an administration not wanting to do much about the problem. And if we don't see fewer entries now, we will sometime very soon.
