I am trying to find a website that gives doctor ratings. More specificly I am in need of a pediatric eye surgeon for my daughter.

Ideally what I am looking for is a site where I can find what other patients have thought of a doctor as well as any sanctions that they may have against them.

I have found a few but they all seem to charge to show me anything. Ratemds was ok but didn't really cover the specialty I am looking for. The net is great with all the info available but when you need something fast and specific its almost too muchm, my eyes are crossed and my mind is mush with info overload and its not answering what I need.

Any help pointing me in some direction would be appreciated beyond words, thanks

Get a hold of your state attorneys office if you need to check one, they will know of any sanction against them.

I don't know what type of insurance you have PJ, but my insurance provides me a list of specialists to pick from and their website has a section where patients can leave feedback on the doctor. I have only had to pick an ear doctor (had to put tubes in his ears) for my son, certainly it is not at the same level as an eye surgeon. Good luck in your search.

PJ, I'm with Paul, you should check with your insurance company. I am sure they can point you in a direction or atleast give you a name and then you can research the name on the internet. Hope everything is ok.

I hadn't even thought of looking at the insurance co, thanks.

Mind goes to mush in times like these.

My youngest daughter will be 2 on Sunday, she has been diagnosed with cataracts in both eyes. What makes this even scarier is that at age 6 I had a cataract. I had the surgery and complications from it cost me one eye as I have been legally blind in that eye since. She was already unlucky enough to inherit the genes from me, I can only pray that she doesn't inherit my lack of luck as well.

P.J. - I'm sure you are willing to travel with your daughter for the best care, you might want to contact Phoenix Childrens Hospital. A miraculous facility that has saved the lives of three of my grandkids. I can guarantee you that there is an expert on staff who has dealt with the problems your daughter has.

My daughter is the head of facilities management for John C. Lincoln hospitals, a partner with PCH. If we can help, please call me - Jen will find the right person to help you. Jim

thanks everyone. We have an apt set now. I had several doctors recommend the clinic here at U of M (Kellogg)
