Some people still believe in it. What's the big deal, I guess you don't think millions of dollars and peoples jobs are a big deal?

I think just sad that team owner and I'd bet money MW had headsets like he always does till this crap hit the wall and then he took them off, is willing risk a sponsor just so he can get in the chase. Yes it happens all the time but most teams have the brains to keep it out of the public eye. Just very sad. 100 people already let go at MWR.

Mike, First, you are one of My heros' , with that being said, I'm not disrespecting you in any way shape or form. BUT.....................
No I don't think its a big deal to "throw a round of racing in order to help advance a team mate, or a NASCAR guy or F1 guy to "help a Team Mate" to win , hence the multi car team concept.

What I do think is racing in general ( and I mean all forms) has become too PC like everything else in the world.

If you think its wrong for Force , (if he did throw a round at Indy to get Height in the count down, then Height won the championship in a John Force car then so be it, I think the problem is with the sanctioning body who developed the welfare point system in the first place.............. not the team owner and driver who made sure they're Team Car won the champoinship.............LF

I guess it is all in where you draw the line.

I have no problem with an F1 team driver letting his team mate drive around him to get on more place, or with a drag racing team member letting his team mate win a round against him.

What I can't accept is a driver letting the whole field pass him allowing them all to gain positions. Or a driver purposely spinning or wrecking to bring out a yellow. There really isn't anything analogous to those situations in drag racing though, unless maybe a team member choses not to qualify or something like that.

Maybe it doesn't bother me much in drag racing because of it's one v. one nature and nobody is guaranteed a qualifying spot...so if you don't like the other guy's team diving, bring out your own extra car and out qualify the other guys so they don't make the show.

Larry, thanks very much and I'll see you at reunion:o. Won't disagree with the force deal at all but the big thing here is letting people listen in on team radios. This discussion wouldn't even happen if they kept them among the teams and not the public.

2 weeks brother:o:)

I'd absolutely agree with that Mike.

Can someone tell me what's the difference between throwing a race or swapping teams and cars out. They both help out the less fortunate racer or sometimes help the racer who higher in the points win the championship. Unless its the same sponser, one sponser is getting the shaft. If they don't complain about it, why should we judge them.

Truex signed with Furniture Row yesterday evening for 2014. Announcement next Tuesday. I hope it works out for Truex. He did nothing wrong. MWR has laid off 15-18 people. They did nothing wrong. The dude that made "the call" is still on the payroll. I hope all the other crews stop work and watch him walk through the pits every time he walks through the pits. Sure hope it has no impact on Capps. Have heard no indication that it has/will.

I had huge issues with the Grand Champions turning his Mustang dead right and out of the groove at Indy. However, once the Countdown began the other 9 Funny Car teams got their butts kicked. 9 teams could have stopped him but failed so no issues with that magical run. MWR's layoffs are probably a tough pill to swallow for Michael. When you see ppl lose jobs because of decisions like that it has to be rough, or at least I hope it is. And a lesson in life was learned.

By the sounds of things NAPA will be staying out of NASCAR in 2014. I think I read on Twitter where Ron said he had a few more years left on his NAPA deal. I hope they decided to up their NHRA involvement and maybe sponsor another DSR FC or TF.
