I wonder how that will affect Capps? A lot of the advertising is tied into the Nascar side of things. Will NAPA look for a new Nascar partner or put more focus on Capps in the short term?

They are dropping MWR due to manipulating the outcome of a race, or as we like to call it, diving.

Ron said this morning that NAPA will be with him and DSR for a few more years. Rumor has it NAPA is shopping their $18m per year NASCAR sponsorship to Stewart Haas Racing with split seasons with Tony Stewart and Kevin Harvick.

That is good to hear. NAPA does a great job of activation with the sponsorship and those types of players are very good for the sport.

This is why I spend my money at NAPA and why I support DSR. Two organizations that have the balls and integrity NOT to dive.

I wonder if you asked Castrol point blank how they feel about a sponsored race team manipulating the outcome of a race what they'd say...

Just sayin..

Everybody knows these things have been happening in all forms of sports for a long time.

I have to applaud Napa for finally saying enough is enough.

I think one time or another every team has had some pre-arranged (order)
But I have to say I think DSR dose an astounding job of keeping things in check with such a large team.

Go Capps and go Napa !!!!!!!!!!!

Without the "Jet Fuel" at Daytona (easily found info btw) by MWR some yrs back I believe NAPA would have stayed. The problem is that in all the controversy ppl are bringing back up the long forgotten "Jet Fuel" incident. So the next time MWR runs itself into the wall with the NAPA branding on the side the fans, media, scribes, talk shows are going to bring up 1. Jet Fuel 2. Manipulating Races 3. Whatever is next. The "Jet Fuel" incident was a huge get out of jail free card in my opinion that was blamed on a crew chief ONLY! Obviously 2/3 on the MWR team celebrated this debauchery on the radio and on national TV at Richmond a few weeks back. Celebrating the issue was probably the WORST thing they could have done.

Personally love to see NAPA and TRUEX walk to Richard Childress Racing hand in hand.

ROLL ON FC28!!!!!

Since DSR races straight up and Capps has a good reputation as a racer as well as an ambassador for NAPA this should have no bearing on DSR or Capps. In fact, I think it makes them look stronger.

Yes! I really hope Truex doesn't get screwed even more out of this whole deal if NAPA decided to go to another team with established drivers. I'd love to see Truex tell MWR to take a hike if NAPA told him to come with them. I think the lack of sponsorship, likely to happen next season as it's so late in the game now, will hurt him at MWR next year. Michael Waltrip couldn't be trusted even if he said he'd keep an unfunded car out there for him.

Don't act as though DSR has never taken a dive. It's disingenuous.

You're a smart guy. Please post up proof of all DSR dives. I'll wait for your response. Accusing someone in public with no proof might prove to be pretty expensive considering what just happened to MWR. But I'm sure you thought of that.

Thank you.

Thank you.

Are you telling us all that Seattle 2003 didn't happen? Giving Bazemore the good lane while Scelzi (who had lane choice) took the lane that only had 1 car get down it in 2 rounds?

Remembering of course that Baze was only 80 points out of first and stood to earn a more as the day went on.

I am in no way saying they do it NOW. But, again, don't act like it never happened.

capps & stewart on same 'team'.....nothin' wrong with that, hope it happens.
get tony in capp's FC instead a railer.
