Muscle cars vs pony cars? (2 Viewers)

If you have a friend who is a cop try him. Or a guy named Galen Govier who has a database for Mopars and a place where if you had the car but not the build sheet he reunites paperwork people send him with their owners.
I've got a friend who is a retired local cop. But, he is laid up right now. His niece's pit bull chewed up his right arm really bad.

Y'all are sure making me wish I could find the 1972 Duster340, 4 speed, car I used to own. That's the one car I've owned that I wish I had back. Many a big block got a good look at its tail lights.
I have the original build sheet with the VIN. But, the DMV does not permit someone to search for a car like that. All I know is I sold it to a guy in McGehee, Arkansas several years ago. I don't remember his name.
We had a guy from Texas show up with a factory acid dipped 340 four speed dart in Vegas, it was very fast, we became close friends, me with my mustang mach 1, 351 Cleveland four speed and Steve with his 383 four speed six pack roadrunner, one of us could always defend our titles as a team on the streets of Vegas in the early 70’s.😎

Glad to see a fellow Olds 442 fan on here. I've been into the Olds 442's for over 40 years. Here's my 66 442 3x2 unit.
Sadly this old girl hasn't gone down the road in about 5 years. Carburetor is in pieces in a plastic tote ready to go back together. I think I'm going to just buy a reman. or I might be dead before I ever get the original back together.

I take it the 383 Roadrunner had an aftermarket six pack setup? That was not a factory option.

That should be a 400 ci, is it a 4-spd?
Absolutely a 4 speed but the tri carb option was available with a 3 speed. All that was required for the tri carb option was a manual transmission. Here it is under the hood. Yes it's a 400 CI engine. It's a totally matching number car with tons of wall paper.(documents)

The 65 442 Rochester 4 jet was a special carburetor. It had removeable plugs in the front of the carb so the jets could be changed without taking the air horn off. A very hard unit to find.

I watched Grave Yard Cars, and the guy sez one of the Mr Norm Mopars had a 440 with a Tri Power set up. BUT - it came from the Corvette. He said Mr Norm thought that was the quick & easy way to do it. Note - my old brain thinks it was the 440, but could have been the 383. Anyhoo, I was astonished to hear that.

It was the 340. argh See video below.

Pretty sure, I’ll check with steve, I also thought the pistol grip shifter was cool, my mustang had AFX factory built large port 351 with dual point distributor and 950 CFM ford carburetor, it was custom ordered for the sun of cal Worthington ford dealership in calf. EPA caught it on spot inspection and ordered it sent back, lucky for me the mustang I ordered was late, got a call from sales Saturday morning the next day that the driver stopped at-the lot in Vegas for some sleep and saying it could still be sold in Nevada, sure miss that car, you couldn’t get what I had on any option package, never thought about that with Steve’s car, now I gotta know, thanks for the heads up

Cool story Mark. My '67 is one of 77 according to Kevin Marty. GT Coupe, K-code 289, 4-speed, power disc brakes, deluxe interior, vinyl top.
Every 67 GT I have ever seen has the S-code 390

Custom ordered at Johnnie Harper Ford in Denver. It was definitely not babied, and the original engine was long gone when I got it, but I've never done anything that couldn't be undone.

Mine is going to have a Max Wedge crossram set up on a 383 as soon as I can find a set of Stage 6 heads that haven't been cut up for drag racing or leaky from the factory. They fit a RB intake onto a B block with Max Wedge size ports. The ram intake is an original 1964 Stage 4 with the large carb holes, the last incarnation before the Hemi took over Super Stock

Yours is one of 472 ever built but you knew that 😇 I've never seen a K with power brakes. Very unusual

Not arguing, but my Marti Report says 1 of 77. So, I'm going with that. It may have to do with how it's accessorized, I don't know.
