More silly season sh...

With all the EPA/ OSHA regs, there is NO way they could do that today!

Ever hear of an indoor, dirt race with USAC Midgets called the Chili Bowl?

NTPA Truck & Tractor Pulls in an arena? Monster Jam ?

Indoor racing is alive and well. Now, I don't think nitromethane fumes in an indoor setting would be smiled upon! But, I guess we could wear the gas masks.

well there is 1 down for the rumor of 2 top 10 teams parking, wonder who other is? Maybe Erica wont be racing this year??

Rich Christensen " PINKS " is supposed to be working on a indoor Drag Racing Show so Rumor has it .
The brain would separate from the skull if you ask me even with mufflers .
And everyone would die from asphyxiation ! :D

They don't run nitro indoors. They don't have tons of cars running and there are no long staging lanes. Go watch an indoor show. The monster trucks make HUGE money.

It doesn't have to be fully enclosed. Never understood why someone (I'm talking to you Bruton) doesn't build a large (retractable???) curved roof over a drag strip. Open on the sides you could get a dry, shaded, and incredibly consistent race surface. Maybe over-arches the stands too. Say goodbye to rain delays and Monday make ups...

I'm pretty certain I remember hearing the president of Borla mufflers say that he could build a set for fuel cars that would tone them down some for drag strips that have noise issues, and he even claimed it would make more power.

There are many ways to slow fuel cars down, I'm not sure lowering the nitro % is a good one. Reducing the noise that fuel cars make would be the wrong move, IMO. When they were down to 85% they were really weak sounding.

One fuel pump with a volume limit, one mag with a output limit and 8 spark plugs. Not a lot of initial expense and changes things quickly. Eventually all teams would migrate to a smaller blower or have to drive the current one a lot slower.

I'm a fan of this approach. You need three things to make power: fuel, air, spark. Limit any one and you're done.

In fact, I don't think you have to limit the pump itself, just spec a certain size line from the pump, (say maybe 12AN?), and that will handle the whole problem. No need to limit mags, plugs, pumps, blowers, fuel %s, anything. You can't get the fuel in, you can't get more HP. Let 'em have any blower, any engine, any ignition, anything. Just limit the amount of fuel and the rest is done.

There's a million ways to skin a cat.....the cat is not going to like any of them.
