Mike Knowles Looking to Roll Fives at The Strip

<P> (10-30-08) Grand Junction, CO – The Jegs Pro Mod Challenge Series race at "The Strip" will mark the end of a roller coaster season for Mike Knowles. As of late Knowles has put the downs of the '08 season behind him. This attitude along with hired gun, Al Billes, has already paid dividends for the Colorado based Knowles.
"Last race was just unreal," said Knowles. "To be a part of the quickest Pro Mod field in history is just awesome! Running the five was a goal of ours from the start of the season. To get it at that race was special."
The weather for the eighth annual ACDelco Las Vegas Nationals, held at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, will be favorable to the supercharged Pro Mod variety. With temps in the high 70's and nearly no humidity an entire five-second field is not out of the question.
"Heat is always an issue for a blown car but this year our nemesis has been water; to be more specific the grains of water in the air. Our engines have a hard time trying to compress all the water in the air, but I don't think we'll have that problem in the desert," said Knowles.
Friday's schedule is set for two qualifying Pro Mod sessions, one at 2:30 PM and another at 5:00 PM. There will be one more qualifying session on Saturday at 1:30 PM with the first round of eliminations at 4:30 PM. Eliminations will conclude on Sunday during the second round of professional eliminations.
