<P> (9/18/08)Grand Junction, CO – After a strong outing at the Mac Tools U.S. Nationals Mike Knowles is looking for continuous improvement in Dallas. The Dallas event is the eighth of ten events on the NHRA Jeg's ProMod Schedule.

"Indy was my team's first race with our new tuner, Al Billes. My guys and Al gelled very quickly and it showed in our performance. I really think we'll be able to build on that performance coming up in Dallas," said Knowles.

Texas Motorplex's all-concrete quarter-mile provides optimum traction and allows tuners to take a home run shot at record setting performances. Mediocreologists are calling for isolated t- storms on Saturday and Sunday but weather conditions between showers should afford veteran tuner, Al Billes, a shot at sending Knowles on a record setting run.

"The Motorplex has always been a great track. Its surface is legendary and with the power we have there's no reason why we can't take a shot at a number if the weather's right. I believe, this Tim McAmis car with the power Al has given us is as good as any out there," said Knowles.

Pro Modified qualifying for the O'Reilly Super Start Batteries NHRA Fall Nationals presented by Castrol Syntec will begin Friday Sept. 19th with the first session at 2:30 PM and a second at 7:30 PM. Qualifying will wrap up with one session Saturday morning at 11:00 AM. Round one of eliminations will round out Saturday's schedule at 4:30 PM. Final eliminations are to be held Sunday Sept. 21st beginning at 11:00 AM.

The entire Mike Knowles Racing team would like to send their deepest sympathies to the family of fellow racer Steve Engle. Steve will be greatly missed.
