Antron Brown was trotted out a few days ago for an RPM2Night interview and he specifically stated that the reason for Spencer's dismissal, as it was told to him, was lack of sponsorship. Which isn't the truth and you just confirmed what the entire racing community already knew.
No disrespect meant, sir, but that's precisely how some of these rumors get started.
With that being said, if all is well within your organization as to this affair, then all is well. It's really no one else's business anyway. The best of luck to your racing team in 2013.
Sorry but no matter how much you try or want you just can't clean this up. You can trot out all the explainations you want but "that dog just ain't gonna hunt". It's common knowledge what he said at the banquet and how it came to be that your funding the car.
There is an old addage: Sometimes nothing is a good thing to do and always a good thing to say". You should sit back, be quite and let the storm blow. It will pass.
Can't blame the team. They had been on the road off and on all season, not getting any awards, tired, missing their family and perhaps they had an idea about how Massey was going to respond. I'd gone home also. The question now is if your Spencer Massey how do you ever earn the respect of any crew member (from any team) or from any fan.

I'm a DSR fan(not bashing here)....but I'm confused on this one. If Spencer didn't say anything and the funding was always going to be there, then why was he fired? As was said before, it's not really any of our business and I'm not owed an answer. This one just looks a little squirrely from the outside.

Don't want to start anything, but is it possible (and I've heard nothing of the sort, I'm just speculating) that whatever Massey did at the banquet didn't violate the terms of his contract - and he pursued a route of legal action against DSR to get his job back? I have no idea how a professional TF driver's contract is written; perhaps some of you do.

I think that as goofy as this whole story has gotten, anything is possible. Seems like I read a week or so ago that Massey was gonna be a crew member on someone else's dragster this season, now all of a sudden he's re-hired? And Mr Schumacher says he was bounced for bringing his own cooler and walking out on Antron's speech? If nobody wants to man up and tell us the truth then guess what? Being the humans we are, we crank up the rumor mill. That's what happens when we don't get the facts from the people involved. Hey, they had their chance to speak up, didn't they?
I'm pretty certain I can say this much. Massey did more than just carry a cooler inside and walk out on Antron Brown. And Massey wasn't rehired simply because Schumacher Electric all of a sudden decided to fund the car. That's all smoke from a burning fire.
