Maple Grove on 2027 NHRA schedule?

Records show that the mortgage on Maple Grove is held by KPK of Berks LLC. KPK is owned by the Korestsky family. So, even though IHRA purchased the track, the Koretsky family holds the mortgage. Would it go back to them if IHRA defaults on the loan?
It was a lease to own agreement if they miss a payment they lose it

These things take time to play out. IHRA would have to default on the lien and then Koretsky would have to get a court order to take back and it could go to court and drag on if new owner chose to contest. 2027 is to early to get all that done. The worst scenario would be for Darana to keep paying for it and turn it into warehouse space or a data center. Just because he quits the races doesn't mean he is out of business.

i couldn't believe the number of people blaming nhra in this whole thing. they couldn't understand moving the race when maple grove sold out to ihra and threw them under the bus.

i took my daughter to maryland. we had a terrific time and i already renewed for next year. maple grove is in our past. i hope the money the koretsky family made was worth it.

ihra is a joke. it was on fs1 this week and i felt like i was watching the baseball equivalent to independent league baseball. it felt less than affiliated baseball like when the indianapolis indians show up on the pittsburgh channel.

This would of been 39th straight years for Nitro at Maple Grove for me. Since Darrell can't steer the ship in the right direction.... I'm on year 20 and counting for Norwalk, guess that's my new home. The least he can do is change the name back to MAPLE GROVE RACEWAY.

What about 2020 when they didn't hold a national event?

So you're backing out. Got it.
How many tracks over the years have been sold, then when the new owner couldn't make it work bought back at a discount?
Atlanta Dragway ring a bell? MIR?

I was never in,esp with you. Go have another beer

I am truly hoping the IHRA gets things in order and continues to operate and achieve their goals, but...why are so many people getting their panties in a wad over this...just a few short years ago (3 ish) the IHRA was a non player and nobody was piss'n and moaning then.

Well that's not hard to figure out. There are a lot of racers, in many categories, that built their 2026 programs around the IHRA series, representing a big investment in time, money, and scheduling to race in that deal. So no matter what the reasons, and what next year may bring, at the moment it's a huge disappointment. I was really thinking the series was getting traction after the last race, as the racing was great and there were actually a decent amount of fans that showed up.

Hmm. Would indicate that Cuttell found a buyer for IHRA, but that it’s just not Freeman.

I would imagine it would be a nightmare with all the outstanding financial obligations and property purchases that are in limbo.

Highly unlikely they will find a buyer who can pay the ones owed money. The TC racers alone are owed close to 2 million total. Adding in everybody else involved it probably pushes close or ever 3 million. Larry Jeffers is still owed 500k from Daryl’s purchase of the IHRA.
