Lindberg and Leanders?

I never heard of these guys before this year, did they own TAFC in Europe before coming over? Cause they have been tearing it up this year!

Leanders has been racing TAFC for some time now and over the past few years has made an appearance or two in the states. The Leanders clutches are being used by racers not only in the states, but also over here in Australia too. The Lindbergs moved into TAFC a season ago after running Pro Mod in Europe. They are the quickest and fastest TAFC in Europe. Going off my memory they are the second quickest in the world and hold the fastest speed. I could be wrong about that, but I can't be bothered looking up the numbers.

In Europe, Lindbergs were able to run a different blower configuration and overdrive not legal here enabling them to go that fast. Randy G. knows more detail on it than I.

Harker and Leanders have quite a lengthy relationship as well (a very good one of course). I'm curious to see how they handle the regional points since Leanders has now pushed Billington and I down, for top 10, there are supposed to be 3 Home Division (region) Races in the rules, neither team has that and Leanders is the main one with his win yesterday in Vegas pushing him up to 8th. ( they have 2 divisionals - 1 d4 - 1 d7 claiming d4 points). Always a calculation going on at this time of year LOL I'm looking forward to meeting those guys next year, if they are half as neat as Andreasson, it will be a hoot racing with them. Hmmm, maybe they will be at PRI ---

Have a great one, and good luck to all of our friends in Pomona. See ya in 2015........

I was under the impression that the FIA drag racing rule book was a carbon copy of the NHRA rule book.

Leanders clutches are the hot setup in the Top Alcohol world, Harker used them all the way to the title, and a lot of domestic teams you would not suspect are running them or will soon be running them in both TAD and TAFC. Mike V is right, until Harker's 5.429 at Maple Grove, Lindberg was the quickest TAFC on Planet Earth this year.

I always thought that about the rules too, at least I remember reading about it sometime back in the 90s. So, that is the impression I've always been under. PS: Don't forget about Manzo's 5.411 in Reading 2011 ;) See you Friday mate.

Leanders has a great videographer with them. Here are their latest videos:

Nancy this is taken directly from the rulebook for Lucas Oil Divisional / Regional championships ... "To be eligible for official NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series regional and division points and subsequent postseason awards, a contestant must claim a minimum of three races within his or her home region or division."

This rule comes into play almost every year ... those drivers that DO NOT validate their points in accordance with the above rules provision forfeit their Divisional / Regional points position. You and Mark Billington would finish 9 and 10 respectively in the Central Region. There are other regions that will set their top 10 this year in a similar manner.

Oh BTW, congrats on your Top 10 finish !!

Thanks Jim!! I just got done looking and it's official, we actually somehow by the skin of our teeth, because of the criteria you've posted above, finished 9th.

As for the Lindbergs (stellar passes no matter how you look at it and we aspire to those numbers), I could have swore I read that they had just a bit more overdrive than we're allowed, but hey what do I know, I read it on the internet it must have been true :)

Best of luck to Everyone in Pomona this weekend.......

Can you imagine how quick these cars would be if the NHRA gave them 125% Overdrive back? Probably reduce RPM's about 1,200 I bet...

Reduce RPM's? Why? The Blown dragsters are allowed 125 o/d to keep up with the injected cars, part of the parity rule.

Save Motor carnage maybe? I remember when they first went to the 92% OD rule, Vern Moats said he needed to turn his motor about 1.500 RPM's higher to make the same boost as 125%! Why NHRA doesn't switch it back to save these guys $$$ is beyond me..

Man they picked up where they left off last year, Number 1 & 2 after Q1 in Pomona! Looks like they have some American crew chief's shaking their heads...

And now we have Craig Glassby (TA/FC) in Australia who's just run 5.410 at the Western Nationals in Perth, WA last weekend. I believe Gary Phillips ran a 5.43 in the other semi-final and lost lane choice for the final!
