NHRA 2023 Rule change- Rip off the band aid (1 Viewer)

Why are there more TAD than TAFC right now?
One of the big reason there is more TAD than TAFC at NHRA is because there is not other options for TAD. If you own a TAD and want to race NHRA is your spot. TAFC has been split up since the MWPMS started running TAFC as well as funny car chaos. The other reason is it is cheaper to build a dragster than it is a funny car. Kind of like you see way more Super Comp dragsters than you do Super Gas cars. Price to build is more. Just my opinions.
But I will say NHRA has been working with racers over the last few months on ways to help get the car counts up. There is no miracle to bringing a bunch of racers at once, but they have started treating the alcohol racers much better which over time will hopefully get more people to bring their TAFC cars back to the NHRA. Us Nostalgia Guys that run the Heritage Series are limited to a 6.71 standard helix supercharger with a cap at 18.9 overdrive. We are also limited to a 21 gal fuel pump, that is flowed and sealed by Crawford. We also are limited to a points style magneto (no MSD ),one plug per cylinder,a three disc maximum clutch with no management system and a 3.90 gear, although most N/FC run the 4.29 ratio. And no limit on nitro percentage.Which that in and of itself is cool.
