Hey Maters I see Larry is qualified in Comp in B/A. Is he working on a smaller engine combo for sportsman customers or did he just add some weight to have some fun in Comp? I'm assuming he's still running PS this weekend.

Anytime Larry's in a race car he's having fun, he is probably testing to expand his motor program. Hopefully he'll pickup a tenth or so, looks like it will take a .55 or better to win.

It is in this case. If you set out to build a 440 inch COMP engine you would use a different cam, manifold and port design to name a few changes. But for B/A with a 500 incher, the car would need to weigh over 2700 lbs. Larry has plenty of "old" stuff laying around so he orders a short stroke crank and builds a 440 for a 2370lb B/A

Good job Larry Morgan, qualified 6th .563 definitely puts him in the neighborhood to win this race.

He ran that car at the SPORTSNationals in Columbus last year - just out there having some fun! I think it's cool when some of the Pro's race in the sportsman classes. Larry here in Comp, Dave Connolly here in Super Comp, and is very common to find Craig Treble show up at Division 4 points races to race in the Sportsman Motorcycle class. :)

Larry came from the Sportsmen classes before Pro Stock so he probably doesn't feel too out of place. There are probably a lot more engine customers to be found there.

I thought that when he ran B/A at the Sportsman Nats it was reported that he was working on a combination for his son to run in Comp.
