Don't the fuel cars have a new "neutral" system (that messed Wilk up a race or two ago)?

Why not start them in neutral if that is possible?

Dennis drives a nostalgia Funny Car, Nitro Cowboy. The crew chief took full responsibility and explained well what happened. Hard lesson learned but luckily it appears that Dennis will be okay.
Suzanne, I was on the Nitro Cowboy team when Dennis drove that car, and I was also standing about 20 feet away from the car this weekend when it took off, and he is very lucky. I talked to him after he got out of the hospital and he is sore but he will be fine.

Good news.

From my understanding once the engine is running and the neutral is engaged it is not possible to get it back into drive with the engine running. I cannot give you the mechanical reason for this, but I'm sure others can explain why this is.

Could the "Root Cause" of this Accident be 4 Wide Racing and the pressure/confusion of starting 4 fuel cars at one time? Hmmm...

4 wide racing caused the titanic to sink, the great depression, and new coke.

Heard on the radio today that when it was announced that April 14 was the 100th anniversary of the Titanic many 20-somethings were heard saying "I didn't realize that the movie had been out that long," and that they thought Leonardo DiCaprio looked good for his age.

Now that was FUNNY Randy !!!.........Was also ready for Marks reply to "his" tune-up !!!......OK, had enough laughs here, back to the "close call" by the Greeks crew.....Lucky no one was seriously hurt with that one..................e
