I was thinking about how fast some of these Turbo Pro Mod cars are, such as Brad Personnet's car that has gone 5.8's@ 250+mph. How fast could that combo go in a dragster? I would think it would be competitive with TADs, no? I know getting the power applied is the big question, but it always is.

Chase Knight (Crane Cams guru) used to run a turbo-into-a-Roots blower car, but I think that somewhere along the way, NHRA's rules-making braintrust decided that, THAT much "diversity" in the powerplants of alcohol dragsters, was just TOO MUCH, so at some point, turbos became "persona-non-grata" in the alky diggers. In the first paragraph, on page 193 of the 2009 rulebook, it says, very succinctly, "turbocharger(s) prohibited."

It's called, "Ingenuity Inaction." It's been NHRA's motto for some time, now. Can you say, "Cookie Cutters are easier to police"???????????????
