For those that want to see Force make it back and do some kind of limited farewell deal, be it 1 long burnout, 1 more Indy, abbreviated schedule, etc., I don't think any of these are good ideas. Isn't that kind of like playing roulette? So many things can go wrong, even on a burnout. Everybody here knows what I mean. If his injuries are bad enough that he is yet to speak publicly (something that he loves to do), I think we should all 1) be thankful he survived the crash 2) pray that he makes a good enough recovery that he can enjoy his family and get back to running his teams while continuing to build for the future of JFR. Just my 2 cents.
I'm with you Nunzio. John has nothing left to prove. A farewell tour would just be for show, and it's not like he won't be at the track if he has his teams still out there running. NHRA will still be interviewing him as much as ever I would think, just from a team owner perspective.

My wish for John is first and foremost he gets 100% healthy, so he can enjoy his family. After that, I'm hoping he can get back to building the future of his organization. Having a John Force not concerned about driving but able to focus on bringing in new partners would be great for JFR, and the sport as a whole.

Maybe....he could even spend some time in the broadcast booth once in a while.

Great to see him looking so well!! We were there when it happened and it was extremely upsetting. For the first 15 minutes there was no word at all then all we knew is he was alive and "responding". After the medivac flew off with him, it really left a dark cloud.
Wow, that was really good to see. I am glad they made that video. He looks and sounds great. I look forward to seeing him at the Pomona Finals in a few weeks.

You can tell he's not 100 percent but it's readily apparent he's made a lot of headway, including some of that typical JF sass that everyone's come to know and love. I have no doubt that between him, his family and the medical staff treating him that he'll make the right decisions. Everything is gonna work out OK for John Force and JFR regardless of how it all plays out.

Great to hear from John himself. He looks and sounds like the old John Force, will be fantastic to see him in Vegas

I think it is important to give him some room in Vegas. The fans can do him good but can also overwhelm him.

blast from the past. polaroid. who knew how life would change.
john had such a rolling billboard, even his name took 2nd stage to OLDSMOBILE across window.
the batmobile in background. a long time ago, but it doesn't seem that long.

first time i ever saw john force was BIR 88'. he burned it to the ground, as did bruce larson. we were up late having a good ole' time, and you could just wander into the pits
and watch these guys thrashing in the middle of the night. i will never forget that. may have even been a super late night nitro start-up.
