Yea Joe, Norm was the man for burnouts and he was doing it out of his pocket w/out any spare parts...maybe a few pistons but nothing else.

The cars from the early days had water in the heads so they did not heat up as quick but Norm did it w/ a dry block and ALWAYS backed up and completed the run after the burnout unlike alot of drivers.
 
I remember at Dallas '92 he was paired agains't Force for Rd 1, he told Force he wanted to do a long Burnout. Norm told me that Force told him "If you don't come back I'm gonna go past the Finishline! Norm did do a 1320 Burnout and did come back to run a 5.62, losing to Force but he sure got a huge ovation out of it.
