We have been losing stars since the sport started. ( Snake - Mongoose - Grump - Glidden - K. Bernstien - Scelzi , to name but a few.)

Not to worry, When ever John Force leaves the sport, the sport WILL go on.

When the Yankee's are winning, baseball is more interesting. Same goes for Force in drag racing!

Have not watched a Baseball game in over 25 years... been at least 10 years since I've seen more than a quarter of any NFL game... hate the game of basketball... 'cause I've been over six foot since I was 12 and every gym coach thought I'd be a natural... still can't dribble a B/B.

Truth is, I like John's Kids, his son-in-law, and a lot of his crew guys... hoping he can put something together for his people.

even if JFR packs up his whole operation and retires tomorrow, we will still have racing.

ever wonder why he has no hospitality area in pits? because he spends his
hospitality money ten fold on airport displays and traveling road shows.
will he be able to continue these brand building expenditures after 2014?

Ofcourse the sport will go on, it just won't be on TV. I think you can correlate the loss of multiple stars with the decline of the sports attendance.

Spencer Massey?

Think about it. Amato, Beadle, Pulde, Kenny, Glidden, Grose, Shirley, Big, Snake, Mongoose.. All gone and not replaced.

Nascar has survived the loss of it's original pioneers, and has remained somewhat stable with the new breed.
NHRA is a "buy a ride" league, and is not surviving the losses of it's stars very well.
The sass is gone, and is now replaced with either washed up retread drivers or someone's kid.

I don't see it surviving and flourishing without JFR at all. He is the foundation.
That'll leave you with DSR and the Ped Bros. as your stars.
