Rich Daddy's? Starting with Force only as a example. He busted his a$$ to get where he is at and can spend his money anywhere he damn well wants. Same goes for Schumacher and Kalitta.

You are missing my point completely. I have no problem with anyone spending their money any way that they see fit. That is an entirely different subject....

True, but if their sales have not increased at a higher rate than the investment they've made, then, well, ya know what happens next...

And for all I know, which is nothing, maybe it has provided a huge spike in sales and they will continue their support. Don't know, just saying that merely getting the name out there isn't what it's all about.

They are certainly making sales they never would of (I own 2 of them and never even thought about the hobby before they got on board) but I highly doubt they would be getting what they put in but is there any sponsor in the sport that would? The cars just cost too much to run these days

I too am a force fan. I'm just saying the sport was here way before him,
and it'll be here long after he leaves.

Yes it will, but at what level when sponsors are tier 5 at best, and the fan base is dwindling?
From world wide heavyweights like GM, Miller Breweries, AB, Mopar and McDonalds to.... Traxxas?..... Really?

Nothing stays the same, it either grows of shrinks.

I think you can leave Schumacher off of that list. No disrespect.
Force started with nothing, and Connie with not much more.
Connie is just an awesome story and has my ultimate respect as a businessman.

Um, well....yeah. That is the sole purpose of becoming a sponsor of anything. Increased $ale$ to warrant the money given to the team. If there is no return on investment, then it makes zero sense for them to be involved.

Marketing business' now a days is not what it was 5-10-15 years ago. Companies change their market strategy with the times and things move a lot quicker now then they used to. Technology changes weekly...everyone looking for bigger, better, best thing TODAY, they don't give a **** about what was cool or "neato" last year. Long term sponsorship is a thing of the past. Has nothing to do with NHRA or Drag Racing.

Yup....it's all over!

Is that response supposed to viewed as intelligent?
If you have a counterpoint, try to explain it in words that others might consider.

Others..
IMO, I'm not sure which demographic Traxxas targeted with their sponsorship.
How many adult racing fans would it take to actually make Traxxas's investment worth it?
I personally do not play with little electronic toys, and neither did my kids.
I am sure some do, but I see their money better spent sponsoring the X Games where their exposure would fit their customer base much better.

As a member of Standard 1320, I can tell you Connie is beloved among the people who "WERE THERE!"

"Long term sponsorship is a thing of the past."

There is plenty of evidence of long term sponsorship continuing in motorsports.

If a sponsor is getting continued impact and value, they stay the course.

28 year old drag racing fan here. I bought one. So did my 29 year old mate last year. And in the RV lots at the tracks we went too there were more than a few Traxxas vehicles getting around.

Pack it in the car when you come to Calder next!!!! Can't believe your 28, don't look a day over 21

Im just echoing every post you make, you seem to think NHRA will be extinct in 5 years! You may be right...

I only watched about 10 minutes today, but did anyone else notice Force NOT mentioning Castrol or Ford during his first round win? I mean, he almost went out of his way to omit them from his normal delivery. Strange.

Not strange at all. If he knows that what they pay for is being on the firesuit and side of the car, and plugging them during EVERY interview is gravy, then guess what? That well has just proven itself to be dry, and there is not one reason for John to put more into this ending relationship that he is currently being compensated for, per his contract.

Notice Robert was VERY vocal about Auto Club tho... Substancially more than average. Smart marketing 101- talk about the folks that take care of you.
