Man I wish we were. The weeks are getting long......
OK, in the stands. It's night time and they're push starting the first pair of Top Fuel Elim. A yellow car.... ah, Greer-Black-Prudhomme. Hey that's the car that ran that 8.09 a weeks ago. Who's the other car? A twin... oh, Lefty Mudersbach, that car has the twin Olds F-85 engines. This will be a good race. They make the turn, cars get into their own lanes, crew guys using rags to wipe the slicks. They're staged, Green Flag, and they're off! Boiling the hides to half track and they're really close. Prudhomme pulls just a little ahead and takes the win. Wow, that was close! Prudhomme with an 8.21 at 185 and Lefty right there at 8.24 and 180. Wow, and that was only the first race of round one.
