Saw a photo of Ed Iskenderian, of Isky Cams fame. He is 95 years old, was out at Eagle Field drag races. Talk about a legend in drag racing!

We were leaving the PRI show to meet some folks for dinner and as we started to get on the escalator, I saw him. I was bummed that we were in a hurry as I would have loved to take a selfie with him.

I took this one of Ed thinking of what to write on a photo of him trying to start the "Swamp Rat" with an old wine bottle. This was back in 2014 at one of the Gathering of The Geezers party called The U.S. Food and Gas Nationals at Don Prieto's warehouse.

I wonder if he still has the roadster? I read an article once years ago, & the had been sitting in the back of the shop. Isky went & started it for the reporter. I think he built it in the 1940's? It would be cool to see that car again.

It's safe to say Ed still not only has the roadster, but also the empty oil cans from the last change, the rag he used to wipe his hands with....the cigar he was smoking at the time...see where I'm going with this?!

you can own Isky's roadster...I heard it was going up for auction soon....it was just at the Greenwich Concours

Last November, Isky flew to England to be a guest at our British Drag Racing Hall of Fame Gala evening in London. Here's a picture of him seated center-stage at our afternoon Bench Racing session.
