Yeah because none of you would care if you showed up on a Sat and no Nitro cars ran right:rolleyes:

So the guy is upset about a 2000 dollar barrel of nitro and he runs a 2million dollar race team. I guess its his right, and I do see his point a litle but if you are sweating an extra grand for fuel just park the damn car for the year.

I think some of you are missing the point. The point is that nitro itself is going for ~$1150 (see the other thread, here) for a full 55 gal 100% barrel for industrial uses, but the teams are being charged upwards of $1600 for a 40 gal 90% barrel by NHRA's "exclusive supplier". No matter how much you make, that's worthy of some kind of protest.

Tom when would it be OK to make a stand? When VP raises their EXCLUSIVE price up to $5000 a barrel? I don't really think it's the PRICE that's the problem it's the "NHRA OFFICIAL SUPPLIER" that's the problem...

"IF" NHRA had allowed DSR to sell the NITRO they had on hand then their wouldn't be such a price gouge going on... BUT That's my opinion and I know nothing.. Just speculating off of what I've read..

I understand the premise of the protest, And i do think the NHRA should tell VP either you charge a fair price or you are out. Maybe VP have been told they are out at the end of the year, i don't know, but it doesn't help the sport if the fans don't think you will run on a particular day they don't come out. Then you go to a potential sponsor and they say attendance is down we'll pass.

Ken runs this out of his pocket so he can do what he wants. I'm just saying it's expensive and you knew that going in. If someone brought there daughter to see Hillary run and they don't over 400 in nitro you lose a fan. And if she goes out in first round Sun because she didn't run in the heat today, and she misses the countdown....

Why don't PRO use some of that new found clout and say they will boycott all NHRA events till they allow other vendors to help reduce the nitro cost.
They threaten to sit out all the upcoming events until they did something after the death of Scott.

I predict the performances to be the same as yesterday! Today isn't as huge as a very few predicted is it?
