Track appears to be very good - should see 300+ runs in TF at 1000' in the next round!
Kudos to the Bandimere family . . . looks like this is gonna work -

flopper top 12... .212 to .298 i'd call that tight for a friday night

Yeah, oil downs, my favorite part of the show:cool::rolleyes:.

I'm already used to the times, if this works, saves racers money, and makes a tighter show, this could be the boost the sport needs.

Bob Fry was sure trying to sell it, how great it was.
I liked Larry Dixons interview at the top end what was it he said "I hope it don't stay this way" and he wasn't the only one!
There is still a lot of traditionalist out there that are out there racing!
Even an apology from another think they are worried this move will impact the sports attendence the rest of the year?
Hell ya they do but Rex doesn't think so! ;) :p

Well Bob - tomorrow could be huge. If there are a lot of moves in qualifying order in fuel cars, the Saturday show might attract more fans! I'm really liking this - Jim

It's a great idea. No doubt, kudos to NHRA to pull this off.

Along with that CNBC piece, this could bring more $$$$$ and teams into the sport.

I really feel this is the saviour from the funk this sport has been in.:)

Even more Kudos to the Bandimere family for a successful track surface re-do over the winter. Sure looks like they got thier return on that investment.

ONE oildown.

TWO sessions.

IT'S WORKIN'!!!!!!!!!!

would love the see the budget expeditures for 2007 vs 2008 western swing.
THAT will tell THE real story.

JIM...Have a Colorado coolaid for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D

From where we sat at the 60' mark you couldn't tell a difference if you didn't know the time. No real blow ups and a super tight field. TF was 3.92 first and 4.03 the 12th spot. It was still a good time.

John Force will never say anything negative about NHRA his success and career depend on their survival!
Lets clear this up I understand the “Big Picture” and accept the rest of the year. I won't be going to another race after Sonoma (I had bought my tickets earlier in the year) I just don't want it to be permanent!
Just like apparently a lot of those fuel pilots who don't want to be negative to the sport they depend on but they slip in by hinting that they want to eventually go back to the tradition and to some in can’t come soon enough.
I have a new respect for Melanie for speaking her true feelings proving its O.K. to not like it and she gets it!

Could not agree more!!! It is not the doom's day picture some people thought it would be. I would take this anyday over losing another driver!

was fun to watch...the only real incident was when bartone blew his burst panel...other than that I don't recall no more than 1 or 2 cars smoking the tires, and both classes 1-12 only seperated by about a hund

Bad news JIM...

Word is out KEN BLACK is parking the fueler satuday to protest the NITRO prices AND increases. He's encouaging more to do the same...

(pisses me the fans will see less.,etc...I understand HIS point though...)

BLAME graham / NHRA FOR THE POTENTIALLY NEXT BIG FIASCO!!!!:(
