Greg Anderson interview...

It's been known for sometime now that the land owners want to build a casino and hotels on this land and would like to close the track. So there has been no capital for improvements and it's starting to show
Calling BS on that.
I would like to see any documentation that you have read or heard beside hearsay that backs up your claim.
Sorry Anderson is a cry baby IMHO.
He got his training from the master Warren Johnson.
Plenty of race tracks that have bumps and dips.
Las Vegas, has had its problem with the under ground tunnel. Columbus was a pretty rough track just to name a few.
It was cold, it rained and rained and rained some more.
Yes it's bad when on lane is better than the other, but it happens all of the time.
The smart racers figure how to get around the rough stuff.

Bruce, sorry I hit that soar spot. If you just look at the landscape change in the last two years it's obvious what's going on there. There has been talk for sometime now about Charlie not making improvements on the property, hell you should know this you live there. I don't know if you're a racer or not but these guys spend 90% of their time working on these cars and when a track operator won't spend a dime on making sure the track is safe then the drivers have a right to complain. Unless there's major improvements done I doubt if NHRA will be back.

Um, Bruce... Greg and WJ and the rest of these guys aren't smart racers? Come on. DeCeglie & Rivera have a ton of experience in these type of cars. So where's the group of smart racers that could've figured it out?

The whole track was replaced a couple years ago, and not just a resurface. They extended the concrete launch pad way down track.

I remember seeing not too long ago that they extended their lease with the Gila River Indians for Firebird. If they really wanted to develop the property for other uses, would they have extended Charlie's lease?

At first I sorta' had the same thoughts, Bruce. I mean, 1-lane racetracks seem to be pretty commonplace anymore, unfortunately. But usually the bumps cause havoc on a fuel cars more so and they just deal with it through the clutch.

I think this situation might be a little different, though. I read somewhere on this or another thread that the Pro Stockers see about 500lbs. of downforce, but I'm sure that's running the spoiler at the absolute minimum. I'm also making the assumption that this area would be about the only thing they could do to counter that situation last weekend, at least from a last second perspective in the staging lanes. I thought, "when those guys get stuck in that lane, why don't they throw a bunch of spoiler at it?". I know it will hurt the e.t., but it would be no different than the compromise a fuel car makes when softening the clutch in the "bad" lane. You do what it takes to get down your lane and hope for the best. But then again, just how much can you increase the downforce on a Pro Stocker if you maxed-out the adjustment? Was it even an option or would it have been an irrelevant/uneffective measure to take?

Since all the first round winners refused to race after round one because the track was so bad, by your logic they must be dumb, huh?

Don't know if anyone mentioned this yet,but I was wondering if IHRA PS rules are different than NHRA in regards to wing dimensions, wicker, etc. Maybe some of the tracks need more wing even if it most likely would effect MPH/ET. I don't recall as many handling related crashes in IHRA PS.

I ran into Greg last night at Autorama in Detroit. I told him I appreciated his honesty and candor. I don't think he regrets saying what he said. :D He did say he thinks he will probably get fined. He did not come off as a whiner or crybaby at all. He had his opinion, and he expressed it.

He took a couple of pictures with my buddies Son, and was extremely friendly and gracious. That's the first time I have ever really had the chance to chat with him one on one. I am glad I got the opportunity...
