Entered in the Winter Nationals in Dels car. You’d think this would’ve been kind of big news. I know it was eluded to in a thread somewhere but I didn’t see it anywhere else. Maybe I missed it?

I guess it's Chuck's car now that Del has moved back to Kalitta. And I agree, BIG NEWS, but no mention on NHRA site.

Frank SR, the father of Cruz, Tony & Frank JR , passed away years ago in a plane crash. He was known as Flamin' Frank Pedregon, cuz the car he raced, a nitro competition coupe, could light the tires on fire at the hit.

https://www.pinterest.com/stoltzsam/frank-pedregon/ Here is what I came up with from Google. These cars were a dragster chassis with a coupe body. the class originated in 1950's & ran until late 1960's, on gas with NHRA and nitro in other organizations. Class was AA/FC or AA/Fuel Coupe. Also a class called AAF/MR, AA/Fuel Modified Roadster. Dragster chassis with a roadster body. They were cool to watch and sometimes would qualify for Top Fuel Elim. They were heavier than the dragsters, almost like Funny Car & Top Fuel today.

If whispers and rumors are true, I don't believe Frank has the greatest of reputations, perhaps NHRA wants to keep a safe distance

Like PJ said, I have heard for awhile Frank Pedregon does not have a good reputation

Unfortunately true, but in my opinion, he is the most genuine of the Pedregon brothers!

I raced against Frank when he was driving the Lemon and Burr TA/FC for a short time years ago and got to know him. We did a match race together at the old Vegas track. He's a likable guy, and I had no issues with him.

My ICON is a picture of our Butters and Gerard AA/FMR. Great group of guys racing in the class in those days.

Another Big Hitter with connections to today is Larry Dixon Senior in the Fireside Inn AA/FMR.

The Pedregon kids were still little guys and girls in those days, but Frank Senior always had them at the track. Family racing! He did more with less than almost all of us!

I met Frank at the races several times a few years back and communicated with him via email. Always seemed like a good guy to me, from a fan standpoint.
