Sad, sad news coming out of D1 this morning. Even if you are new to drag racing the Aragona name is one of greatness. Frank Aragona Jr. passed away this morning from a long health battle. Frank was a racers racer, He and his dad innovated, built, conquered whatever class they decided to run and they ran multiple classes. Generally showing up with 2 cars, Frank had every intention of leaving on Sunday with 2 Wally's. Frank was gentleman, eager to help others. He was a friend to all. Infectious smile. I will deeply miss him. R.I.P.

I know it is not Nitro but these were people that loved drag racing

Three-time NHRA Comp eliminator champ Frank Aragona Jr. passes away

Frank Aragona Jr., one of the greatest and fiercest NHRA Competition Eliminator racers of the modern era, passed away Feb. 10 after a long and brave battle with cancer. He was 53.

So very sorry to hear this. Frank Jr was a wonderful respectful human being. He never tried being better than anyone else, even though he had the resume to back it up.

This is so sad, I sat next to him on a connection to Gainesville a few years ago, seemed like a great guy. RIP Frank.
