For fans: Your interest in watching NHRA 1/8 mile nitro racing? (13 Viewers)

I went to a fight once and a Hockey game broke out. Big rink little rink it didn't matter. Motorsports in general ebbs and flows. Long track short track, to a serious racer/owner, for the most part it does not matter as long as they have a place to run their car, and someone to race against.

We runnered up to Bruce Litton at that race. The track had been repaired before the race and then was damaged on Saturday night. If memory serves me correctly, the final session of top fuel was finished by making single runs in the remaining good lane.
So, the winner was determined by speed or elapsed time?

But would you go to the hockey if they only played on half the ice? I can enjoy a high school game in any sport.
That would be different context, but Olympic (and European hockey) is played on a larger ice surface than NHL hockey. And I dislike the bigger ice games. However, the competition is as much if not greater during the Olympics, so Of course I watch it. (It's not half the size, but it is relative to comparing 1000 ft to 660ft)

so now that IHRA is having 3 1000 ft fuel races each paying 150k to win, what is the next excuse for why they suck and NHRA is the only game in town?
Just booked rooms for Maple Grove because of that, already had to cancel rooms for NHRA's September race.Let's see who shows up.

Zero interest. Been around the sport for forty plus years as a spectator and sportsman racer and that would be the end if my participation in it which would be a sad day.. It would however give me more time to love on and enjoy the two classic Mustang s in my garage.

I would prefer IHRA raced to 1,000 feet, and that all nitro racers could/would run to 1,000 feet. I however am not paying the BILLS, or time time away from work. What we do see is less cars in NHRA each year, so I will gladly go to some of these re-opened tracks and watch/support IHRA tracks and racers as well as enjoying a few NHRA races. Us that grew up with 1/4 mile are spoiled, but I'll support short-course racing ,reopened tracks, and returning teams. More Drag Racing is a GOOD Thing. Competition between the HRA's is healthy.

Help me out here.
No schedule on IHRA.com
No May Nitro event on the MG website. (But the NHRA event is still on the site)
Saw a schedule today on FB with no mention of MG.

Where is this event info?

Facts is facts..............
1/8 mile races have much larger fields than 1/4 mile.
right now NHRA has more spectators but how long is that going to last
the average spectator just wants the noise and thunder of nitro
IHRA is going to bring it economically, $40 to get in, free parking, reasonable food, lots of cars to check out
Team uniforms nah, fancy haulers nah down to earth jeans and t shirts of racers
If no racers show up it really doesn't matter how far they run.
How so? IHRA runs an 8 car Field, although there have been short fields in TF at some NHRA events but still 16 car fields.
The math I was taught in school 16 > 8. I don't know maybe it's different with Common Core Math.
