For fans: Your interest in watching NHRA 1/8 mile nitro racing?

A handful of drivers have been 300 to the eighth. Brittany has been 304+ at the eighth. But not at an IHRA event.

You'd be able to confirm or refute this but if I recall, Morgan Lucas once ran 299 to the 1/8th which would have been 2013 or earlier. I watched the pass on television but I don't recall the year or the event.

Scott Palmer went 314 and Jasmine went 330. Both at 1000' (obviously). Not sure I saw more than 275-280 in the 1/8th.
I'd like to know her et in the eighth. With all the money out there now, we will see sub 3 sec and 300 at Triple Crown Events,in 1/8 mile.

The Triple Crown Events are being held at tracks that are capable of running 1000' and they will be running 1000". This should keep them in line of what they are running now.
If they do go to 1/8 mile I can see some teams turning it up slightly as they do not need to survive till 1000'. The tune up is based on RPM, Gear ratio, and rev limiter. if you condense that down to 1/8 mile they will go faster and quicker to the 1/8th. Right now they have to slow things down to not hit the limiter too early, so yes they could go faster quicker at the 1/8 if they have the traction.

On Jasmine at the 660' - This is what I found. I could be wrong of course.
The top 2 rows are data from Jasmine's best MPH, Brainerd 2024.
The bottom 2 rows are data from Jasmine's best ET, Finals 2024. The blower let go in the lights.

At this juncture in time, IHRA cannot advertise 300 MPH dragsters and funny cars. Not once in the history of IHRA has there ever been a 300 MPH 1/8 mile run. Not saying it won’t happen in 2026 but it hasn’t happened yet.

Why not they run 1000' just like NHRA, so they honestly can Worsham 318, Salinas 330, Dixon 319, Reed 327 .............and the Triple Crown is all 1000' they listened to the fans

It will if they super glue the track😕

I was interested in Jasmines 1/8 mile et and mph on her runs at Columbus. I know it was 1000ft race. I'm looking forward to being at Dunn in 59 days and Columbus in June.

not going to Virginia?
No, I have a cattle ranch in Central Texas and always busy but really busy end of March til mid Oct. Being from The South, would have liked to see Monument Avenue before it was destroyed. Gonna make Dunn, Columbus, Memphis(rode with Larry Dixon there in 2021) and last one at Atlanta(hopefully). You going to VA?

yes sir. And Maple Grove, and as many in Ohio as I can. I live in MD so I will go to NHRA at MIR and some pro mod races in NC. And racing my street car at as many local races within about 100 miles as I can.
