Have the Factory X cars run in the 6's yet? If not, they are close already 7.009 and 7.019 in session 1 today.

great to see lenny's 2-car team on top after Q1. guessing aaron did not make Q1 pass?

you mean no one's been dq'd for wrong parts? ....... into the 6's. awesome. hope they all get there.

I like the class, I hope they can get past all these issues and rebuild the car count. I heard Greg Stanfield say he and Aaron would be stepping out of the seats next year to give some other drivers a chance, and he wanted to focus on working to help the class grow, in so many words.

Results of final, round 1 eliminations in Factory X at the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series, 24th annual Ford Performance NHRA Nationals

Why only one round, if 5 cars were qualified, the Stanfield's were D'Qed in first round of qualifying.

Lottig and Alexander withdrew from the event due to the way NHRA had handled the rules enforcement. Not sure why Stanfield withdrew. That left two cars for eliminations.

FWIW, Geoff Turk's Blackbird Challenger was the first in the 6's with a 6.97 in November 2023, but it wasn't at a national event. I was talking with an NHRA official at the Motorplex a couple of weeks ago where two COPOs had run 7-flat, and he told me a week or so before that event Alex Laughlin had run 6.86 @196 mph - again, not a national event. The Challenger was also the first over 200mph with Allen Johnson driving in 2023. Turk is boycotting NHRA because of the cheating by the COPO teams, followed by NHRA's making the extra blower overdrive legal for the COPOs. I had high expectations for this class, but the way it has been handled so far has been a debacle.

Just when you think NHRA would learn that the last rules infraction handling was bad, we see what appears to be a similar event, losing two more competitors. I can't imagine teams that were watching before moving forward with the class are having a warm fuzzy feeling again.

what's the latest with rules infractions and nhra rulings from vegas? seems to be messy. lenny and jesse backing out
is a bad sign that things aren't right in the class. it's too bad.

I see the Stanfields are stepping away, stating they're "going to step out of the seats in order to take time to advance the class" - whatever that means. I hate it - everybody bitches about Pro Stock becoming a stale Pro Camaro cookie-cutter class...Factory X represents 3 manufacturers and the cars are a lot more stock appearing than Pro Stock cars are....yet the class seems to be going nowhere. 5 entries and 2 given the boot? That means my Dad's old 2000 LeSabre could have come in 4th if I'd entered it in the race. It's almost like NHRA doesn't much care if it survives or not, even to the point of working against it. This endless dustup over supercharger overdrive and the alleged cheating is ridiculous.

Those cars have the potential to run 6.80s@200-202 or so. Those are exciting numbers. It wouldn't bother me in the least to see PS eliminated entirely and Factory X become the Pro class that replaces PS. After all, they're a lot more 'pro stock' than an actual Pro Stock.

I don't like the "droopy butt" look of the cars. Maybe they'll end up in Comp with the pro stock trucks.
Yeah, they do resemble a female dog taking a leak.
Comp is a favorite category of mine but anymore it's rare to even fill a 16-car Comp field. Guess it just got too expensive or everybody got tired of getting beat by Bruno Massel. :)
