Enders v. Anderson

It goes back to Chicago, after her victory one of her sponsors wanted a picture of her holding the "wally" in front of Greg's trailer. I am shocked why he waited so long to say it bothered him and say it was unsportsmanlike on ESPN. Guess he is still mad he was "that guy".

So Greg pays her back by playing staging games next time he faces her?

I really hope I'm wrong, but if that's the case ... I just lost a bunch of respect for Mr. Anderson.

I didn't see the TV show so I don't know what was said, but I just saw Greg and EE having a conversation at the top end after the second round. I don't really believe that there is any bad blood between them, they are both competitive people that want to win, and want to win bad.

I think the "vets" are always going to try to get into the "kids" heads. We all remember WJ calling Connolly a "punk kid". Anderson was just a lot more diplomatic with his "I don't want to be that guy". Personally, I love it!

With all due respect, Alan, I'd point you to reviewing the up-close-and-personal "dialogue" they had. No one raised their voice, but it was clear Greg was dressing Erica down. I heard Erica asking him why he didn't come to her before now and let her know he was upset.

In any case, whatever Greg had to say to Erica should've been done inside a transporter or on a private walk, away from other people's ears, let alone within two feet of ESPN's cameras.

This is what P/S needs, more animosity and hard feelings. I miss the bottle throwings, WJ on a tirade, the staging battles,Larry Morgan and his 'you can't fix stupid' shirts etc. This sport is dying a slow death,it needs more controversy, more feuds ,more of the Force vs Pedregon cage matches. It's almost like watching paint dry anymore. Everybody wants the PC,me,lets see some hard feelings.:D

The ESPN3 coverage didn't show everything Anderson said, they cut in late.
But Gary Gerould told Erica that Greg said he was unhappy about the way she acted after her Chicago win.
So Erica, to her credit, confronted Greg. Greg did not confront Erica. She asked why he didn't say anything sooner.
I couldn't make out his reply but it was something to the effect of, "I didn't want to."
Erica said it happened a month ago and wished Anderson had said something sooner. She then turned and walked away.
I like how when she found out she immediately confronted Anderson. She proved to be more of a professional than Anderson was whining about.

I'm pretty sure this is what the "problem' was about. GA should have NEVER let her or Cagnazzi know it got under his skin. You never ever let a competitor know they got you. Photo courtesy of our friends over on Yellow Bullet

yup....they just aired it here.....I heard her say "I was by your trailer, and my dad said hold the trophy up"

I'm neither Greg, nor Erica, but I like both, and will continue to like both....I would still like to see Greg in the booth as he's good at sharing what's going on....I do however think it's much ado about nothing. It's almost as if someone fired him up about the photo previous to the round.

Holding your gold medal up and feeling pride for even a moment when second and third place are standing on steps lower than you isn't ever considered unprofessional....

yep!!

It would be if you went into "their" locker room to hold it up! ;)

podium = drag strip
locker room = driving your golf cart through a Summit party, mooning them with your wally hanging from your neck saying "suckas!"

I guess it's perception as most everything else in life. Some folks can take a joke, some can't....some folks think sandbags are funny....some think sandbags should be respected.

He has got to be kidding that he would get upset over something so petty. Alot of respect lost for Mr. Anderson.

Yep lost some for Greg!
Gained some for Erica!

May I have 20,000 copies of "the" picture for next weekend!!! We can TP his trailer with them!!!
:D ;) :D

The staging game meant nothing as far as a lack of respect goes. If you can outwit your opponent on the starting line, hooray for you. Anderson didn't do anything illegal, or unethical.

But I grew weary of his whining about Enders months ago. And as much as I can understand his disappointment in losing at Chicago, that's what he should have been disappointed about - losing the final. Instead, he made it sound like it was the ultimate shame to be beaten by a female.

Karma train? My ass. PS drivers redlight from time to time, and she was probably amped to the max anyway. Did the same train run over Mike Edwards?

Erica's final words today, "you picked a poor time to bring it up", pretty well sums things up. This is small potatoes as rivalries go, of course, but Anderson, in my opinion, came out of it the bad guy. I'm glad Johnson tagged him in the final.

I agree he made himself look like a huge idiot out there and Erica was professional in her response and she let him have it at the same time! It's hard to like Greg. It all to often looks like the worst day of his life if he's not winning. He just never seems grateful that he has one of the best jobs in the world, and even when he does win, he'll always find something to say. I understand if your a perfection, but does it have to be such a dominating part of your image?

Thanks Carl: I already cleared the DVR & couldn't remember what she said @ the end!!!
