I'd love to see Cory Mac back but I'm sure Don will do (in the words of a famous wrestler) what's best for business.

Eugene, you're in the best place to find out. Get in your rental car and start snooping around. Come on Man.!!!!
Sorry, i'm not a good source for inside info because even if i knew anything (witch i don't) i wouldn't discuss it until it was already public anyway. Besides, that would take away everyones fun of playing the guessing game.:)

I swear on my mother's grave that a DSR member told me Cory Mac would drive. That's the last time I post any rumor stuff.

Just a thought based on nothing really. If you lost your state issued driver's license for a DUI, don't you also lose your NHRA Competition license? If you were the president of a company that has the motto "Dedicated to Safety" and you lost your license due to a second DUI would you still have a job? Just curious.
Compton kept his job when he got caught trolling in Compton,CA.

Spencer Massey replaced Cory for four reasons. We discussed this absolutely to death back in the day when it happened. Not one person that I can think of agreed, approved and Don Schumacher caught so much hell over it he felt the need to come on this forum and defend himself. Spencer was hired because Cory lost the Fram money and Gene Snow had some; because Cory was considered an aging TF driver and therefore less marketable than a much younger Massey; and because he was known for his known lightning-quick reaction times, something that cost Cory and Team Schumacher several round wins towards the end of his career with DSR. People made the valid point that CM's reaction times weren't THAT bad, and they weren't, but he wasn't as quick or consistent on average as Tony, Antron Brown, or Massey. That's not just my opinion. It all came out right here, and elsewhere, back when everything went down.......
He can dig through this thread for starters.http://www.nitromater.com/threads/cory-mcclenathan-leaving-dsr-following-season-end.26651/page-6

The key here is where Rick said " all the interviews I saw ". Go behind what the public see and you will know why she has no ride and T.J. does.

I've heard a couple of those behind-the-scenes rumors but I'm not going to bring them up, since obviously I've never spent any time working with Melanie. A couple of times I spoke with her at the Texas Motorplex; she was as gracious and kind as she could be and not in a phony, condescending manner. And that's how I'll remember her.

Where does al Balooshi's money come from....I thought the only reason he was driving the Al Anabi car was because he and the sheik were friends.

Wow. Wonder what Massey could have done to get fired now, must have been pretty egregious to pull a car out of the Countdown. Feel bad for the guys on the team, a whole season of hard work just went down the drain.

Could someone else put Massey in a car and run the Traxxas Shootout? Does the win stay with the driver or car?
points stay with the driver, so yes if anybody would have him he could run and continue to collect points

If one considers Al Balooshi used to used to drive for Al Anabi/AJR, it might be he was hired as he has an inside look as to how AJR operates, alongside he had success with one of the better teams out there. I doubt he brought money to the table. Just my two cents.
