Since Pomona's just around the corner, it reminded me of the time I was in Hollywood at the Mann's Chinese theater to see Titanic (96-97?) I was lurking around the Footprints of the Stars out front cause I arrived early. This one guy at the Door saw my NHRA shirt and asked "Where you at the Track today?" I looked up and said yes, and it was an employee of the theater, the guy then told me he grew up in Orange County. He said he spent many days at OCIR, Pomona, Irwindale, you name it! But got married, had a family and slowly lost touch of the sport, and hadn't been to the track in like 20 years!
In Hollywood as a race fan you feel Lightyears away from the Track, so that was a shock to say the least. He then took me up in the Office upstairs and showed me some awesome Old Movie mementoe's, Posters, you name it.
When I told him the cars were going over 300 MPH he practically ****! He was like "Your freakin Kidding me"! That was funny as hell.
