How/why does NHRA allow crew members to come onto the track in front of a car when it is doing a burnout?
Doug was already doing his burnout when one of his crew members ran onto the track in front of the car.
Thank goodness the guy didn’t trip.

I don’t think there is a rule other than “common sense”. I also wouldn’t stand there near the front of a pro stocker while doing a burnout.

It was my rule to never turn my back on the car while it was running. And I never stood behind it during a burnout, a stone only hurts but in the eye it's devastating.

Yeah, I would at least wait until the car stops. Looking at the other 3 rounds, the routine doesn't appear to be the same, so who knows what's going on over there at that particular time.

I was flipping out over the black Durango(?) that kept driving down the return road just as TF cars were staging. Tony Ped said that Tony Stewart seemed to have an issue staging and from my angle of view any vehicle moving on the side would be a distraction. Also what if a car came over the wall? It did it for several runs….

pretty easy to make one in this case, One warning and next time banned from starting line for the guy doing it.
