Does any track have unique, tasty concrssions?

Agree 100%. Criticizing the sanctioning body is fair game. Share opinions on what you like. Tell me what your favorite burger is.

Why do you have to slam somebody in order to tell me what you like?

I have and drive and LOVE a '67 Mustang. But I don't have to say that '69 Camaros SUCK! To tell you I love my Mustang.
Alan
I think we did just what you said, and this was a FOOD discussion, not a referendum on sponsors or anyone’s product. We can say something sucks. Doesn't have to be popular.

You seem to be saying that we shouldn’t say we don’t like any sponsor’s product on here. Well, what if it’s just not that good? Are we all supposed to be opinionless drones?

God help any company if they take to heart a comment on a message board. Who really cares? We don’t have to agree - we are not telling anybody what to like, or where to not go.

I'm trying to figure out who decided that slamming a major sponsor on a drag racing site was a good idea.
In-n-Out is not your favorite? OK. But why in a public forum would anyone who loves Drag Racing go out of the way to to bad mouth any major sponsor?

I can say that my favorite pizza is ABC pizza without saying that XYZ pizza is the worst crap anybody every served. And if XYZ was spending big bucks in Drag racing I would stick with "I like ABC" Period.

At my shop, I have an account and I buy parts from an NHRA Sponsor. I have reasons for doing business with them. I have also had not great experiences with others that also are NHRA Sponsors. But I appreciate that they spend their money in Drag racing. So I will say that I like ABC Auto parts. But I will not say XYZ Auto Parts sucks!!!!!!!

When did you have to hate something in order to like something? I am able to like many things, without hating others.

Alan
P.S. Anyone who wants to say that I'm sucking up to my employer is obviously clueless.

I am going to have to disagree with you on this one. I am positive corporate America knows there are people out there that do not like their product Some people voicing that is not going to change the big picture of how they do business overall. They are obviously successful at what they do and if "we" say their fries are lacking maybe they will or will not change that. I highly doubt a handful of negative comments on a drag racing site is going to cause them to bail out. If anything it might cause them to say hey lets look at our XXXX product.

I do not buy products based on who they sponsor, I may try them now that I know who they are because of a sponsorship. NHRA is its own tiny little bubble and IMO if it entirely disappeared from their business model I doubt they would notice. They are involved because a person there likes drag racing, when they are gone the company will go in another direction. The Chandlers come to mind, they enjoyed drag racing and spent a lot of money on FC, they passed and the family moved on.

Understand that not everyone agrees, that's why we have discussions. The point I was trying to make is this:
If I asked what do you like? Why do you feel the need to tell me what you hate?
I can tell you that I like something without putting something else down.

I have family in Murrieta California and I visit there on a regular basis. I come from a state that does not have In-N-Out Burger.... I am always amazed when I drive past an In-N-Out Burger in southern California on any average weekday and the place has a line out the door (for inside service) and a drive through line of cars all the way around the building and into the public street. This happens every day at lunch time at most In-N-Out locations. At least it does when I'm there visiting. I have seen an In-N-Out location that shared a driveway with another fast food burger joint (Wendy's, if I'm not mistaken) and the In-N-Out location was PACKED (like normal) and just 75-100 feet away was the other burger joint and there was maybe one or two cars on their entire property. This was at about 12:30pm (lunch time) on a Tuesday. lol. There is a reason why most In-N-Out locations are packed to capacity during lunch and dinner on any given day..... and the nearby fast food joints struggle to get any business. They are good, and fair priced. Sure, there may be some people who personally don't care for In-N-Out but it seems to me those people are in the minority.

As for me... well, I'm a cheeseburger and french fry junkie.... and I'm a big fan of In-N-Out. lol.

in-n-out related ..... did anyone notice the in-n-out logo on the top of the christmas tree @ vegas?
is it on others too? or just vegas? it's a unique logo placement.

Like what and how you said it. It brings back a saying a very wise person told me.
When a person tries to make another look lower in relation to make him look higher.
Watch out for that kind of people

Well, In-N-Out isn’t crap, for sure. Fresh ingredients is their claim to fame, and you can taste that difference a bit. What you will really like is the service you get at the restaurant. Nobody tops them in that regard.

Definitely try it if the opportunity presents itself in whatever city you’re in. Then, tell us what you think.
Agree with Chris' statements. We have both in our area and the two are quite different from each other. It depends on what you like. My wife and me enjoy both but eat In-and-out much more often. 5 guys fries are good for sure. Our In-and-out is a fricken cash cow, 24/7 !!! I've seen the drive thru 30 cars deep at lunch time. Out the parking lot and down the street.

Lynsi Snyder and her grandparents have done a lot for the sport and Lynsi continues to. With a net worth of 8.7 BILLION she doesn't need to support the sport but does. Not only as a sponsor, food provider but she races as well. I'm embarrassed by the bashing her product has been given on here. My parents brought me up that if you can't say nothing nice about someone or something keep your opinion to yourself. I hope she doesn't read this or get wind of the bashing she could easily pull her support back. Just the .02 of an old man.

Yeah. It’s not impressive. But, when an In-N-Out store appears near me in Huntsville I will pay homage. The stores don’t need any help from dedicated customers, they have enough.

Personal rankings fast food burgers.. Worst to best.

Sorry, I just have to do it. I’m a foodie. Since I retired, I’m an aspiring Home chef and hopefully soon to be drag racer again.

-McDonalds. bad, just bad! LOL. Overpriced. Best fries in the industry, though!
-Krystal/White Castle. For some reason, I get a craving for these. I always feel disgusted with myself afterward.
-Hardee’s. When it was Carl’s Jr., it was outstanding. Now, pathetic. So much potential.
-Wendy’s. So far removed from what Dave intended, it is not even recognizable. Flavorless. Any of you guys remember that Dave’s deluxe burger from the 90s? Now that was a burger!
-Steak n Shake. Had to go three times to convince myself it was terrible. It might even replace McDonald’s as the worst.
-In-N-Out. I used to joke, in and out is exactly what the burgers were like in my digestive system. Fries unsalvageable.
-Burger King Whopper. Getting better on the list here, believe it or not, and I used to not care, but I think they’ve improved in the last 5 years. Hey, It has flavor. Some stores have had issues with cleanliness, so don’t visit one of those.
-Five guys. So far overpriced it shouldn’t even be included in on this list. No seasoning. Not much flavor.
-The Stand. Solid, not much flavor. I prefer Carl’s Jr.
-Carl’s Jr. Flame broiled. Flavor! Excellent, I wish we had these in the south. Most likely location dependent.
-Whataburger. Solid. Good. Everything about it.
-Culver’s. Best fast food burger, but may be location dependent. Get the bacon double deluxe butter burger, and you’ll see what I mean. Pricing is in the middle level.

I haven’t tried Freddy’s, or Shake Shack. We don’t have those here. What do you guys think?

I have not sampled it yet,, but I bet Applebee’s and Chili’s have better burgers with sides at a comparable price than anything on this list.

I just prefer to cook everything at home. My 6 oz charcoal grilled burgers annd homemade buns will blow anybody’s burgers away on this list. Maybe if we ever have a NitroMater gathering, I’ll do burgers.
I really like Freddy’s but they are similar to Steak n Shake. Of course I do like Steak n Shake too. Shake Shack has grown on me in the past year but there price is closer to Five Guys. Three other burger chains I like that you didn’t bring up is Farmer Boys, Habit Burger and Cook Out. Unfortunately there is none within 1000 miles of me so I can only go when I’m traveling for a race.

Has anyone ever eaten the burgers at Portillo’s? I had one in Indy after the races one night and it was incredible. I had to go the next day to get another one. They might be known for their Italian beef but I like their burgers better.

Maybe she needs to improve her product

Illinois sucks...

Would this be a bad time to say that the McRib is back?
🐷
Good one! No, it’s perfect timing. And I usually try to get a McRib whenever it comes around. I’ll pass this year, though, since it’s already overpriced. And it’s always used as a cushion for the other revenue they are losing on other substandard offerings.

This is a thread about food. Some people can weigh in like a school teacher grading papers and tell us what we ought to be saying and thinking. Free discussion is one of our liberties in serious trouble right now.

Now, maybe In-N-Out can fix those fries.

To the OP. See what happens around here? lol.

I had a choice tonight between a burger at Arby's and one at Burger King. Not happy with my choice of the former.... they need to stick to roast beef....
Hey! Arby’s is a major sponsor of my favorite top fuel team. I love the roast beef and potato cakes. They should stick to that, I agree.

Have you seen the Arby’s French dip lately? That thing has shrunk by half! Lol

I am going to try and get one today, I like them the once a year they come around.

Well I got my McRib today, just like I remember way too much sauce, onion and it has shrunk some. I am good for another year. Lucy, chocolate lab, got her 4 pc kids meal with double fries. Oh and Lucy paid, she found a ten dollar bill in the Lowes parking lot when we went to pick up decking.
