Does any track have unique, tasty concrssions? (2 Viewers)

I live in the midwest and we don't have In n Out. How do they compare to Five Guys?
I prefer Five Guys burgers but they are way more expensive. Defiantly take In n Out over everybody else. The In N Out fries are horrible. They slice the potatoes right before cooking them but for some reason they are tasteless with the texture of styrofoam. IMO worst fries in the fast food industry.

if in-n-out is expanding in TN and other areas? how about sponsoring another race in the area, like bristol for example, and having the
cook trailer/s there? negotiate a deal with nhra for a larger % of food profits, as the brand will do more to attract new fans than the actual racing will.

Are you guys kidding with this question? Really? Does this even have to be asked? There can be only one answer to this question.

I defy anyone to top Pomona in recent years, since In-N-Out Burger started the Title Sponsorship of the track. Now, there are In-N-Out "cookout trucks" in every corner of the pits. No waiting in lines. Always with their trademark excellent service. And all prices only slightly higher than out in the real world. What could be better?

Thanks to Lyndsi Snyder for continuing the Company's involvement in NHRA drag racing. She should be racing her "Flying Dutchman" Pro Mod car this weekend at Pomona. She's done well there in recent years.
Anything could be better In-N-Out is horrible

The Snyder families unwavering support to NHRA makes it my favorite Fast food restaurant period ! Their burger's are terrific and they should have our support IMHO , agree that the fries aren't great. Now during the Mc Donalds sponsorship days, that was hard. Support those that support the sport we love if possible.

They dont... Five Guys is one of the best joints around you will only be disappointed with In-N-Out
I guess I can compare InNOut as a little superior to Wendy’s. Fresh ingredients elevate the burger, but beyond that it has a very little flavor. And there is absolutely no saving those InNOut fries no matter how you order them. LOL

But yes, when one opens up here in Huntsville, or nearby Madison, AL I’ll at least go to pay homage once. That place will be packed anyway, lines around the corner.

Pomona use to have a nice selection of food vendors, but I haven't been there since 2017. There was one where they would deep fry just about anything.

Since they put stores in Texas I think I've been 3 times. I was not impressed.
Yeah. It’s not impressive. But, when an In-N-Out store appears near me in Huntsville I will pay homage. The stores don’t need any help from dedicated customers, they have enough.

Personal rankings fast food burgers.. Worst to best.

Sorry, I just have to do it. I’m a foodie. Since I retired, I’m an aspiring Home chef and hopefully soon to be drag racer again.

-McDonalds. bad, just bad! LOL. Overpriced. Best fries in the industry, though!
-Krystal/White Castle. For some reason, I get a craving for these. I always feel disgusted with myself afterward.
-Hardee’s. When it was Carl’s Jr., it was outstanding. Now, pathetic. So much potential.
-Wendy’s. So far removed from what Dave intended, it is not even recognizable. Flavorless. Any of you guys remember that Dave’s deluxe burger from the 90s? Now that was a burger!
-Steak n Shake. Had to go three times to convince myself it was terrible. It might even replace McDonald’s as the worst.
-In-N-Out. I used to joke, in and out is exactly what the burgers were like in my digestive system. Fries unsalvageable.
-Burger King Whopper. Getting better on the list here, believe it or not, and I used to not care, but I think they’ve improved in the last 5 years. Hey, It has flavor. Some stores have had issues with cleanliness, so don’t visit one of those.
-Five guys. So far overpriced it shouldn’t even be included in on this list. No seasoning. Not much flavor.
-The Stand. Solid, not much flavor. I prefer Carl’s Jr.
-Carl’s Jr. Flame broiled. Flavor! Excellent, I wish we had these in the south. Most likely location dependent.
-Whataburger. Solid. Good. Everything about it.
-Culver’s. Best fast food burger, but may be location dependent. Get the bacon double deluxe butter burger, and you’ll see what I mean. Pricing is in the middle level.

I haven’t tried Freddy’s, or Shake Shack. We don’t have those here. What do you guys think?

I have not sampled it yet,, but I bet Applebee’s and Chili’s have better burgers with sides at a comparable price than anything on this list.

I just prefer to cook everything at home. My 6 oz charcoal grilled burgers annd homemade buns will blow anybody’s burgers away on this list. Maybe if we ever have a NitroMater gathering, I’ll do burgers.

My brother in law’s place (Stoby’s) in Conway, Arkansas and Russellville, Arkansas has what I consider as the best burgers.
Plus, his cheese dip was given national recognition by Kris Allen when Allen won National Idol in 2009.
Stoby’s promised Allen free cheese dip for life when he won Idol.

Stoby’s? I’ll pop in when I’m through there. Maybe make a special trip. I tried once before to start a thread on here to talk about track food, and it only generated mild interest. I’m glad to see the topic back.

Well, this wasn’t supposed to be a food thread, but I, and we, have kind of made it one, and I really like it! Something to chat about at least, and levity is often needed around here.

Wow I am surprised to the replies, I always thought they were supposed to be great and I wanted to try them. Now I am not n such a rush.
Well, In-N-Out isn’t crap, for sure. Fresh ingredients is their claim to fame, and you can taste that difference a bit. What you will really like is the service you get at the restaurant. Nobody tops them in that regard.

Definitely try it if the opportunity presents itself in whatever city you’re in. Then, tell us what you think.

Whataburger is my go-to but I get better burgers at some of the independent folks around here. I think Whataburger use to be better.

No doubt the independent guys have got better burgers than anybody on this list, and at reasonable prices too.

Except for maybe me. 😋 Hard to beat a nice, fresh charcoal grilled burger. What? Is it dinner time yet?

I'm trying to figure out who decided that slamming a major sponsor on a drag racing site was a good idea.
In-n-Out is not your favorite? OK. But why in a public forum would anyone who loves Drag Racing go out of the way to to bad mouth any major sponsor?

I can say that my favorite pizza is ABC pizza without saying that XYZ pizza is the worst crap anybody every served. And if XYZ was spending big bucks in Drag racing I would stick with "I like ABC" Period.

At my shop, I have an account and I buy parts from an NHRA Sponsor. I have reasons for doing business with them. I have also had not great experiences with others that also are NHRA Sponsors. But I appreciate that they spend their money in Drag racing. So I will say that I like ABC Auto parts. But I will not say XYZ Auto Parts sucks!!!!!!!

When did you have to hate something in order to like something? I am able to like many things, without hating others.

Alan
P.S. Anyone who wants to say that I'm sucking up to my employer is obviously clueless.

As you well know, this forum is often critical. Nobody needs to tow the corporate or politically correct line, however unpopular it might be with some. We often criticize the sanctioning body itself.

These are opinions, open for debate, and not unique. Everybody should be able to deal with that.

Very well put Alan, it would be so boring if everybody liked the same thing, we’d be driving electronic fuel injected, anti lock brake model A’s and the only color option would be gloss black😎

Agree 100%. Criticizing the sanctioning body is fair game. Share opinions on what you like. Tell me what your favorite burger is.

Why do you have to slam somebody in order to tell me what you like?

I have and drive and LOVE a '67 Mustang. But I don't have to say that '69 Camaros SUCK! To tell you I love my Mustang.
